not those exact words but something to that effect in e18/19 (or was it e17/18). the way his gaze had changed (which lasted 2 episodes) once he found out she is committed to ammar reinforced it.
He avoided eye contact right after the proposal rejection which is understandable. He told Sadaf that all the dreams he had of her were someone else and he will forget them. His whole basis more than her marrying someone else, is him thinking he wasn’t worthy of her. Ammar was the better person, the one that Mirza Saab would approve of. Of course, he felt guilty for proposing to Sadaf since she was committed to someone else even though he didn’t know at the time but I felt he backed off more because he felt his previous lifestyle made him unfit for her and Ammar the superior choice.
I’m wondering if he’s learned more about Ammar because he feels a bit different since coming back. He was more cold towards Ammar in the meeting. Maybe he was just in business mode and was a bit annoyed that he kept them waiting. He’s also done his homework now and has discovered that Sadaf is more qualified than him in some aspects. He doesn’t want to cut the same kind of slack to Ammar that he did before. He initially got the promotion because he was engaged to Sadaf. Now he doesn’t really care if Sadaf wants to decline the offer for Ammar’s sake - he just wants the best person for the job. TBH, I like this side better. He does have a business he needs to manage.
