Will Baby John work?

Thoughts on Baby John buzz?? Will it work ? It releases on Xmas day. Samosa trade accounts do not seem hopeful. Varun's last theatrical clean hit was in 2017.

It already had a lot against it. Trailer didn’t generate any hype. The songs are 👎🏽. There’s a Hindi dubbed version of the original available for free on YouTube. And now the north distributor of Pushpa2, Anil Thandani, wants 50% of all PVR screens for Pushpa and for the other 50 to be divided between Baby John and Mufasa. I think there are still negotiations going on but if Thandani gets his way BJ will open even lower than expected or hoped.

As far as I can tell it doesn’t have much buzz either so even if Thandani doesn’t get his way it won’t last too long. By new years he’ll get all the screens back 🤷🏽‍♀️

The timing of release is bad I guess, they should’ve released it either before Pushpa or only in January

Xmas is always touted as a good day for movie business but Baby John lacks buzz.

Of course certain twitter people would spread that they aren't "hopeful"...we will see if the negativity spread will have the desired effect. Pushpa already announced a "bonus" of 18 minutes footage to get repeated viewing (real ones or faked ones, doesn't matter).

Well, maybe the respective distributors can bully Baby John out of screens because giving Pushpa a quasi free run for more than 2 weeks already wasn't enough to get a l l the records so screens still are needed to fill the halls at least available in India (with real or virtual people doesn't matter).

As for the "buzz"...every 'thinking' person knows how easily it is possible to hype a movie (with the needed means) ...so it's the same with disparaging a movie.

The buzz is genuinely low and the songs did not click. Let's how the advances shape up.
