I really sometimes wonder whats going on in his head? Is he really willing to give up Mehru when his mom says give up. That's why the jealousy angle needs to come, he needs to realise that there will be loads of men lining up for Mehru and is he ready for that? It has to be a kind of a reality check to him, that Mehru can be married to someone else if she desires.

He knows mehru loves him & he always had high opinion about himself. My guess is that he might think mehru will fight to stay with him even if he gives up on her, like what amal is doing now.

And exactly like what you said, he need to know mehru can move on in her life, if they get separated.

She is pretty tiny and I think she has lost a lot of weight. She looks overall pretty tiny
