yes my thoughts exactly!! like I had assumed the conversation between him and his mom had gone along the lines of him pitching the idea of marrying mehru so his good for nothing bro can get a "get out of jail" pass. But today it seemed like the marriage was mommy dearest's idea ..

also if the aim was to get the brother out ..perhaps if he didn't tell mehru about that doctored video footage showing a different driver, he would be out!!

Shahnawaz is one confused soul - we need more of his backstory wherein we get to see how his mom has controlled and shaped his every thought and emotion and we also need that mom-son conversation shown to us in flashback to make sense of his actions currently!

One scene this drama should definitely have shown - not sure if it got lost in the edit - was Shahnawaz and his mom actually plotting or her plotting and him listening. There’s so much fill in the blank one has to do to try to make sense of Shahnawaz now. Because for one thing we literally HEARD his inner monologues of developing feelings for Mehru - we know he loves her. But then for the betrayal to make sense, they could have added a scene of the mom and son when they planned all this. The conflict now would make so much more sense. And when they planned this, what was Shahnawaz’s frame of mind? How did HE feel? Some conflict of emotion maybe. Anything. Feels like a missed opportunity.

I really hope it got lost in the edit because otherwise this just seems like a cop out by the writer just for the wedding night shock value scene. There’s no actual basis for this shown. Just audience filling in the blanks.

Ali would have been so good in such a scene. He’s doing well showing his conflicting emotions now so back then when this plan was all plotted out, it would have been interesting to see.

He is totally lying by saying it's mommy's idea. Bechari ko social media se phursat kaha ki woh mehru ke baare mein soche. She only wanted him to marry her niece.

hmm...he's a confusing and confused character ..nonetheless it's exciting to see him control himself around mehru!

I didn’t enjoy today’s episode :( why are they not giving more screentime to Mehru and Shahnawaz? We don’t want to see Saman, Rafay, Urooj and Amal (ugh!).

The wedding night could have been much more with angst and romance. Or the morning after. But they keep sending him to Amal. Shahnawaz is giving me the ick now. I enjoyed it much more before the wedding shenanigans.

I agree. I too felt that this track isn't like expected, Mehru meets with her family members (although it is clear that she was shooting those scenes seperately ) . And talking to her MIL . Only one scene with Shanno. It was good btw . but watching Shahnawaz with Amal .. and asking her to go out. What if media spotted him cheating on his wife publicly! Many things in this show don't make sense but we beared them for MehrShah. Now why should we tolerate this!

I expected it. It's a pak drama and they ain't gonna explicitly show shanno and his sexual frustration so the dude is staying away from her as much as he can.
