Chapter 15 - Ugly Confrontations

After five days,

Abhira's exam went well. After that, ruhi was busy making sure that abhira is relaxed as she was worried for abhira's health. Though abhira didn't show much, she was enjoying her elder sister's pampering. Infact she was happy that she could divert ruhi's attention as since ruhi's announcement that she is gonna get back together with rohit and wanna try to save their relationship, the situation was tensed. Ruhi had a very heated argument with her B-nanu who didn't aprrove ruhi's decision. But ruhi was firm in her decision. Her badi maa and choti maa were also trying to convince ruhi to change her mind, but ruhi was admant. Abhira didn't say anything regarding this but stood by ruhi silently as she believed that if ruhi wants rectify her mistakes, then she should atleast try. Then she won't have any regrets, no matter if it works or not.

Amid all these chaos, Abhira forgot to find that person's details who was interested in their resort until kipling uncle reminded her again. She mentally smacked herself for forgetting it. So, she went through her mother's some belongings which ruhi handed over to her after she got discharged from hospital. Finally she found her mother's phone and started going through contacts to find the needed details. Suddenly she saw a contact named 'Bade Papa'. She knew that her mother used call Parnanu as bade papa from ruhi. When she saw that her mother has called him on the day that she got shot, a sudden urge came to her mind to find out what would they have been talking. She herself activated call recording feature in her mother's phone as she was worried about her because she used to recieve threatening calls on some cases. She was sure that call would have been recorded. And she was right. She was so curious to know that how this call went between them.

Manish - Hello...Hello, who is this?

Akshara - Bade....Bade papa...Its me, Akshara...

Manish - Akshara....

After few seconds silence,

Akshara - Bade papa...I want to tell you something...

Manish - I don't want to hear anything.

Akshara - Bade papa..please...please.. Listen to me once...This is important...I...

Manish - That tragedy didn't only affect ruhi but also made you non existant for us. We don't have any kind of relationship with you.You are already dead for us. Don't call us ever again.

With that, the call was cut from manish's side. A shocked Abhira thumped on the bed. She couldn't believe what she just heard. Abhira could clearly tell that her mother was calling from her death bed as she talked with a great difficulty. Her pain was clear in her voice. But seems like her bade papa didn't notice it or maybe didn't want to. She checked for a trace of a second call but there was none. She was furious. How could they do this to her mother? She was feeling so many emotions at once. Sympathy for her mother's situation, betrayal for the lies these people who claims to be her family have continuously told her, anger on the injustice which happened to her mother even on her death bed. She wanted to confront goenka elders immediately. She got up with difficulty fighting against her pain as her head already started throbbing. But she could only take few steps as dizziness took over. She fainted and fell on the floor.

At rose garden society premises,

Armaan was returning home after taking shadow out for his daily walk. This little buddy was helping him to deal with his unexpected seperation from abhira which didn't seem to have an end. But he knew his wait would be worthy and he has so much to work on. It was a shame that shadow was giving him so much comfort and warmth which some of his family members failed to give even though they claimed care for him. Just then he saw a old lady who seemed like returning from market with few shopping bags. Suddenly, she was feeling dizzy and was about to faint. As armaan noticed it, he immediately ran to help followed by shadow. He held that lady to stop her from falling. He made her sit on a bench and gave some water to drink. Then he started to collect the goods which were scattered on the floor due to this sudden chaos. The old lady was staring at him, keenly obseving him. As he felt the gaze on him, he asked "What happened, dadi? Why are you staring me like that?. The lady replied, "You look familiar, dear.That's why."

"By the way, do you live here? I haven't seen you before here.", the lady asked. "Oh...actually I have been living here for a while now. In my mother's house, there..", armaan said pointing towards his house. "Wait...That's...That's shivani's house...Means...Armaan...Is this you,my dear?...", the lady asked with a trembling voice. "Yes, my name is armaan and my mother's name is shivani but how do know me?", armaan asked in confusion. "I knew it. I can recognize you in millions. Where have you been this much years? Why didn't you visit us? Didn't your mother tell about me?", the lady asked him while caressing his face lovingly. "Well she didn't get chance to tell me. She died on my birth.",armaan said sadly. "What nonsense...I am the one who helped your mother with her delivery. I am the one who held you in my hands even before your mother did. I am the one who took care of you when your mother left for work. Your mother was fine until you were almost 2 years old. Who told you this bloody lie?", that lady kept on ranting angrily while armaan was shocked listening to this new piece of information about his mother.

At goenka house,

Abhira was laying on the bed as doctor was checking on her. Ruhi was sitting beside her on the bed. A while ago, when she came to abhira's room to check on her, she was shocked to see abhira lying on the ground unconsciously. Some belongings of akshu maasi which she herself gave abhira when armaan handed them over, were scattered all over the floor. A scream left out from her mouth seeing abhira at that state alarming others. All three elders who rushed into the room was terrified to see abhira's condition. Surekha dialed doctor's number with trembling hands while manish carried an unconscious abhira to the bed. Ruhi was sobbing continuously as swarna tried to console her while trying to stop her own tears wishpering to herself more than to ruhi that abhira will be all right.

"What exactly happened before she fainted?",doctor asked with a worried expression who just finished checking up. "We don't know, doctor. Abhira was already lying here unconsciously when I saw her",ruhi replied in between sobs. "Hmm....Seems like she has met with something shocking which made her weak like this. I told you guys to keep her away from any kind of shocks. But...now what's done is done...Lets see how will she react when she wakes up...", doctor said dissapointed with goenkas which made them flinch in fear as they was not sure which made abhira shocked.

"I have an important surgery to attend. So, I am leaving now. Be patient with her and try to handle her calmly no matter how much angry she gets. If her health decorated again, means if she faints or has breathing problems, then immediately admit her. I will inform my juniors to be ready in case of need.", saying this doctor left leaving goenkas to wonder what kind of storm is about to hit them.

At one of the houses in rose garden society,

Armaan entered into a small house with shadow following that old lady. She signalled him to sit and went inside. That lady asked him to come to her house with her, so she can show him the photographs of him when he was little which her husband clicked. Armaan was curious to know what those old man's camera had captured. After a while that woman came with an old photo album. She gave it to him.

"We had a daughter of shivani's age but she died due to an cancer. When shivani came to stay here,we grew so much closer to shivani because of her loving and caring nature. She literally became like our own daughter for us.We were there by shivani's side when her marriage to your father happened. We were so happy for her seeing your father being madly in love with her. We thought everything will be fine. But one day, she suddenly came back with her brother who just finished school. She was pregnant with you too. I tried to ask her that what happened but shivani only told that her and madhav are no more together. She always avoided that talk so I didn't push her much.Her younger brother, your uncle worked day and night to earn to support his pregnant sister. We also did our best to support her even though she didn't take much help ecxept from being paternal figures for both her and her brother. After few months from you were born, she decided to go to work as she couldn't let her brother do all the hardwork. Your uncle also loved you a lot. You were his champ. It was me and my husband who took care of you most of the time as both your mother and uncle went for work. My husband loved photographing, he used to click lot of photos of you saying you are such a photogenic.",saying this she let out a small chuckle.

"You were such a cute kid. Everything was going smoothly when suddenly your mother decided to leave hastily without informing where she is going. Few days ago,your dadi sa, kaveri ji also came to meet her and a heated argument too happened between them. From then, shivani was scared of something but left without telling anything with you and her brother. She promised to contact me once her problems are solved. But she never did. We couldn't find you either, so unwillingly we had to give up.", that old lady said in one go.

Armaan was extremely confused. He was always told that his mother died at his birth. His father was also made to believe the same. But information given by this lady and this photo album told otherwise. This album included his photos with his mother's too. His dadi sa met his mother means she knew her mother was alive when he was small. Yet, she used it as a weapon against him every time saying he was the reason for his mother's death as she died on child birth. He was furious at dadi sa. He wanted confront her right now. He wanted his answers. So he got up and walked towards the door with shadow while carrying that photo album in his hand.

Suddenly he stopped and turned back, "I am sorry, I am so overwhelmed right now so I forgot to ask. May I know the name of my mother's well wisher?". "Myself aarthi and my husband's name was suresh. But you can call us your nana-nani even though your nana is no more.", she told in a soothing voice sensing armaan's pain. Armaan smiled a little and left. Aarthi was looking at armaan's retreating figure knowing that he needs time to handle this revealation. She prayed for him and promised herself to do everything possible to make him feel better.

At goenka house,

Abhira slowly opened her eyes only to find herself surrounded by goenkas. Ruhi was also sitting beside her, holding her hand. As she remembered that record of the last phone call between her mother and manish, she jerked and got up. She sat down on the bed. "Abhira, what happened to you dear? How did you fainted suddenly? Is everything alright?", manish asked worried about abhira's condition. But abhira remained silent. "What happened, bachcha? You don't seem to be fine. What are you hiding from us?", ruhi asked as she was sure that something must have happened which affected abhira so much that she fainted. Abhira let out a sarcastic chuckle and said, "Exactly, that's what I wanna ask from your B-nanu. What is he hiding from me?". Everyone got afraid thinking abhira might have discovered something they hid from her. "What...what are you....talking about my child? I don't understand...", manish asked with a slightly trembling voice. "Oh, really? Don't you know? Fine,then let me remind you.",saying this abhira got out of bed and took her mother's phone which was lying on the floor.

"I am giving you one last chance. Just tell me the truth. Did my mumma really hand over my responsibility to you? Were you there when she took her last breath? You told me that my mother took a promise from you to take care of me. Is that true? I am asking for the one last time.", abhira asked trying to control her anger. Manish was confused. He felt something was wrong but still decided to keep up with the lie he said. "Ye...yes...my dear.. It was your mother...who asked me to take care of you...She was worried that what will happen to you when she is not around.",manish said trying to act honest. Abhira tightly closed her eyes as manish was still lying despite she gave him a last chance to tell the truth. That's it. She had enough. Now all of them have to answer her.

"Fine then, lets ourselves listen to what my mother exactly told you and how you reacted.",saying this with a smirk abhira started to play the call recording on the phone. As it ended, manish's face became pale as he understood that abhira had caught him red handed. Ladies were also shocked. Even though they knew that akshara called manish on her death bed, its now that they're getting to know that how harshly he replied to her. Regret was clearly visible on their faces.

Ruhi covered her mouth with her palm with shock. Now, ruhi could understand that why abhira was so furious. Actually, this reply was so cruel for someone who called her only family from her death bed only to inform that she is taking her last breath and her daughter is in a grave danger. Ruhi slowly approached abhira to calm her down,worried for her health but abhira swatted her hand away saying, "No ruhi, not today. Stay away from this,please. Today, I want my answers". Ruhi understood that its better to stay quiet as abhira addressed her by her name instead of "Di" which she was calling her for a while.

"So, what do you wanna say about this Mr.Goenka? Are you still saying that it was my mother who asked you to take care of me? She was calling from her death bed. But you....How could you do this to her?",abhira roared making everyone flinch. "I am sorry, my child. I did a big mistake. I won't be able to forgive myself for the way I behaved that day. I was just trying to rectify my mistake by taking care of you. I didn't want you to be left alone like akshu. I didn't knew that what was her condition then..I...", manish was cut off by a furious abhira.

"Shut up....Just shut up,for gods sake... Don't lie anymore.", abhira screamed covering her ears with her hands. Ladies and ruhi were watching all these helplessly. "Fine, lets say that you didn't know what happened to us. But you did know that my mother never tried to contact any of you for good 22 years...22 years...She called you after freaking 22 years for the first time and you didn't even feel the need to listen to her few minutes. How can you be so heartless?", abhira was yelling at manish angrily. "And even after all this, you had the audacity to lie to me about my mother. Don't you have shame?", abhira asked giving a disgusting look to manish while he looked down not being able to meet abhira's eyes.

"I was always wondering that why didn't mumma ever tell me about you. Why did she keep me away from you guys till the end? Now, I understand why and I am glad that she did. I am proud of her for not relying on some selfish,heartless people like you and bringing me up all by herself. My poor mumma...How much hurt she would have been because of your selfish acts but she never showed a tiniest hint to me. She always protected me but I failed to understand her pain...."

"Taking that accident's blame for ruhi's sake was her decision but she didn't deserve this at all. I hate you. I hate you,Mr.Goenka. I hate you from the bottom of my heart. You were never my family and never will be. You...", abhira suddenly felt a dizziness again. Everyone got horrified seeing abhira is bleeding from her nose. Within few seconds, abhira fainted again into manish's arms making ruhi scream her name in fear.

At rose garden house,

Armaan was going through that photo album with teary eyes. He could clearly see that how him, his mother and his uncle was so happy in their liitle world until something tragic has happened. Something has definitely gone wrong. That's why his mother suddenly left with him and his uncle. He had been lied throughout his life that his mother never got to spend even a single day wuth him after his birth. This lie has brutally hurt him many times. There must be a connection between his dadi sa meeting his mother and she suddenly deciding to leave. He has to confront, Mrs. Kaveri Poddar- The mariatch of the Poddar family. Well, he doubted if it is really a family. He got up and left towards poddar mansion to find answers to his questions.

At poddar mansion,

Kaveri poddar was lost in deep thoughts, seated in the gazebo of the mansion. She could clearly see her family falling apart which she can't afford at any cost. She had to do something to make everything get back to normal. She was hugely dissapointed on vidya. When she chose her to be her elder daughter in law, she thought she was making the perfect choice. Same was with ruhi. But both of them proved her wrong. But her ego didn't let her accept it openly that she could also make wrong decisions. But she knew she had to take actions before its too late.

Suddenly, she was snapped out of her thoughts by a familiar voice. "You knew it, right.", it was armaan standing infront of her. His demeanor had an unusual calm which was different from before. "Armaan, you are here. How are you? And what are talking about?",kaveri asked curiously. Armaan came and sat beside her. "You knew that mother didn't die at my birth. You knew she was alive I was atleast 2-3 years. Am I correct?", armaan asked straightly looking forward, not at her face.

Kaveri was stunned. How come armaan know this? That's when a realization hit her. Armaan was staying at shivani's house. He might have met someone who knew her. Oh god...How did she miss this? "You even met my mother before she hastily left from rose garden house with me. What happened between you guys that made my mother take such a decision all of a sudden?", armaan asked still not looking at her face.

Kaveri knew that she was caught red handed. She can't lie anymore. If she does, it will go against her. Kaveri was about to answer him but armaan got up and said, " Its okay, don't answer me. Anyways, after the way you falsely accused me being the reason of my mother's death making me literally wonder that why the hell did I even came to this world, I can't believe you anymore. I myself will find the truth.",saying this armaan started to leave.

"Your father and vidya....",kaveri started to talk stopping him in midway. "They were having a rocky marriage as madhav was not able to forget shivani and accept vidya as his wife. I was worried that madhav will never be able to move on. So I went to meet shivani to warn her to not to even think of coming back to madhav's life. That's it.", she said letting out a sigh. "It doesn't matter. I don't believe you anymore. I know what all you did with my mother to break her marriage with papa. Papa told me everything. Infact, you tried the same trick with me and abhira once, right? But our love survived it. I still have hope that one day...one day she will come back to me.", saying this armaan turned back to face kaveri.

"I can't believe you anymore. No matter whatever anyone says, I am a poddar by blood and no one can change that. I won't stay in this place anymore. But I won't give on what is rightfully mine too.", as armaan said kaveri raised her eyebrows in confusion. Armaan chuckled sarcastically, "Don't worry. I am not talking about properties. I am talking about my rightful place which I earned with my hardwork in law field and in poddar firm too. And I will definitely find out what happened to my mother. Don't think that you can hide anything anymore."

As armaan truned to leave, he saw his father standing there with a shocking face. His blood shot eyes were clearly indicating that he has heard his conversation with Mrs.Kaveri Poddar. He gave one last glace to both of them and left silently leaving mother-son duo to deal with it as he was not at all interested in messed up dynamics in this family anymore.

Abhira is a sunshine girl who had a beautiful childhood with her mother while armaan's was a traumatic one....I always wanted abhira to be armaan's healer and armaan to be abhira's anchor.... The two of them to become their only family in real sense...But makers are obbsesed RUHI and abhimaan's ddp...I mean ddp also can be shown in a meaningful way, by not going overboard... I don't trust makers anymore...They only know how to destroy the story and waste lead's potential... I am just so done with them...That's why I took pen myself...Hope you will follow me on wattpad and will stick with my story in future...
