Not American, but have a question which might seem stupid, so please forgive me.

Why do women vote for Trump? The kinds of things he says about women, the rights he will take away from them, the truths about Epstein and Diddy etc etc - why do young women support him?

I get why a straight older white male would prefer Trump, but not women or the younger generation?
I know people compare voting for him like Indians voting for Modi but Modi is consistent with his rhetoric - Hindu nationalism and stuff of that sort. Has been since before he came on the national stage. That’s his vote bank and with a large population of a minority religion, religious politics serves him well. Trump’s past interviews, his view points, his hypocrisy regarding abortion rights/immigration/fidelity is open knowledge that is easily accessible. So why does the young gen still support him?

As an Indian, his economic policies or immigration drama/tax evasion doesn’t affect me, but as a doctor and a woman, his curtailing of reproductive rights really rubs me the wrong way and his history with rapists (and allegations of being a rapist) and the “pussy” comment etc are deplorable. Don’t understand how American women take it. Especially considering that USA considers itself the cornerstone of the developed world.

U can watch this video. I dont really have a clue of what he has said earlier but lots of lies were spread about his campaign and people could see through that. In his first term these democrats said Trump will start ww3 if he returns to power. And we actually saw the world plunge to wars when he lost and dems came to power. Now the people and even the media worldwide has hopes that he will stop the wars.

I’m a centrist by all accounts - but Trump being in power or not being in power has not caused wars. Middle East was always a powder keg - Arabs will always consider Israel to be a settler colony and Israel will always defend its right to exist. Saudi trying to bring about a relationship with Israel (irony is not lost on me) caused Iran to ramp up their actions and led to this outcome, coupled with Bibi’s quest for power and freedom from corruption charges.

Ukraine also had full rights to defend its borders - they already lost Crimea, and all it did was embolden Russia to annex even more. I would say that same if Pakistan started to encroach LOC and gain Kashmir or India started annex PoK. Politics about lands and borders is complex enough for people like us who actually live in these countries, I don’t think we can understand how wars and borders are effecting these nations. Trump will not/cannot bring about peace in the ME or Russia (unless Ukraine surrenders which shouldn’t happen).

Reproductive rights in the USA are declining. I say this as someone who used to practice there for some time. I have friends who still practice there. In India, we battle problems like foeticide and infanticide - it is not a hidden issue. But our MTP act is a huge green flag in front of some of the more developed nations. Reasons for MTP can be social, ethical, medical and failure of contraception which honestly covers any way a woman can get pregnant and has saved lives both of mothers and children (who would not have a good life if born under those circumstances). As an OB/GYN, it is my worst nightmare to have to tell a rape victim or teenage girl or lone woman that she has to forcefully give birth. I rarely talk about politics and not the least about developed white nations - I’m so used to racism and xenophobia that it doesn’t bother me anymore but health rights do.

Like I said, I don’t know much about his economic policies or MAGA rhetoric except for the broad things about health rights I have been told by my actual friends who live there (caucasian people) and of course the Epstein and Diddy cases have too much evidence to be locked up.

I had no doubt Trump would win. His voter base was always strong. The young generation (especially Latin-Americans who could themselves be denaturalised and non-evangelical women) voting for him has surprised me is all.

Ok here it is. The Ohio woman she talks about is Brittany Watts. Sad that such lies r the reason women dont get medical care when needed.
