Yes 2.5x is a good enough mark to be a hit, but everyone in India is a sellout.. whether its awards or box office verdicts announced by trade pundits. Even budgets are faked.

The fake hits never stand the test of time though. Look at My Name Is Khan for example.. a manufactured hit, swept all the awards that year. No one talks about that movie after all these years.

I see so many movies that don't even make twice the budget being declared HIT like fighter and so many more.

I don’t take the verdicts seriously 😐 as there no credibility so in case I like the verdict they selling me I believe it n in case I don’t I don’t believe it .. my motto

Show- and Entertainment business have global rules...I doubt that Karan would publicly explain how the 'making believe', the funding and the different kinds of non-cinematic influences work. Karan got quite nervous from time to time. Personally, I didn't learn something new except that his CEO Apoorva is his childhood friend.

I think, sometime back, there was a discussion about this on Indiaforums, I remember participating in that thread or maybe it was on some other forum. Nowadays producers don't tend to lose money on a film with plethora of rights unless the film is really bad and have no takers, quite a few films are a 'hit' even before they are sold, that might be the reason why so many producers/actors may not really care if their last film was a success or failure.
