The makers have turned Abhira into Anupama 2.0 - the younger version while Anupama's story is an exact, word to word copy of YRKKH Gen 2. So, in simple words, the makers and the writers lack creativity and imagination and are uneducated on the topics like family bonding, women empowerment, marriage, and in general, reality!

@bold though I don't watch that show but this much I know that Anupama was never loved by her first husband (correct me if I'm wrong) the younger version of Anupama was homemaker whereas Abhira is the working woman. Younger version of Anupama might not be treated like bad omen because of infertility as she never faced this issue. Anupama was submissive in the beginning whereas Abhira was outspoken. So no both characters aren't same. Yes, Abhira can be as annoying as Anupama for many, but both characters are different & their situations are completely different.

Lmao the disrespect of women and this festival on this show is disgusting. This fast is about faith in god to protect one's spouse. Faith is personal choice. If Abhira weren't even pregnant, she could still choose to not fast without being villainised lol.

If a husband threw a hissy fit because he supposedly fasted for his wife's long-life and she did not starve herself to fainting. That kind of defeats the purpose of him being a non-toxic moderm man who is so progressive to fast for his wife's long-life lol. Men, anyhow, are allowed to eat traditionally while their wives fast. If the reverse happens, why's he shouting on his wife? Is his fast transactional?

Whole lot of nonsense going on in this show.

Normally I don't comment on Ruhi as there is nothing to say - she is vamp and fits into the standard template Itv has for vamps - vile, selfish and putting on a goody goody front. But the sad part here is that goody goody front was fully exposed before Abhira and she still trusts her. I don't mind Ruhi exposing Abhira as that is her purpose in this show. I only mind that Abhira still craves her acceptance and calls her did.

Abhira has now fainted I don't know how many times. BP fluctuations can happen during pregnancy but it's happening too frequently for her. Her entire family goes to same place to work - she can't ask for lift? She has to drive when she has dizziness spells? She can simply say headache or dizziness and noone would even cross question. I have no issues with her keeping it a secret for 2 days - it's been very less time and she has the right to process that information herself before sharing. And it's absolutely fine that she ate when doctor asked her to - it's sad that it came out pretty badly innfront of the family. But she could have said something in her defence - she is not hiding a crime! At least to her husband! They stay in the same room. She can keep trying till he actually heard her. She doesn't have to go to restaurant to share that info when she saw he felt cheated and disappointed.

Also I have friends who cannot fast - they get super cranky or get migraines or whatever. So, they are not good spouses? Our tv should stop making these kind of stupid statements. It's a beautiful ritual to be enjoyed with one's spouse - only if it does not feel like torture to the one who is fasting.

I made that remark in the sense that Anupama, even after years of verbal abuse, she is still there, tolerating their abuse, raising her voice sometimes only to fall back into the same pattern where she considers that family is to remain glued together no matter how toxic and vile they are to you.

And Abhira is doing the same right now. She is tolerating this toxicity which was so not her original characterization. Just because they are family or are elder to you doesn't mean that one should tolerate the indults, vile and disgusting remarks and all that verbal abuse that is being shown in the show.

Yes. Abhira can choose to not fast and maybe convey the same to her husband? It's not like Armaan forced her to fast. It was her choice

The very simple way out would have been to tell him that she is not feeling. Hence cannot continue

But she lied and made him look like a fool.

The matter is not about her not fasting to death. The matter is about lie she told

This lack of communication does not justify her being villainised by his family and shouting on her during supposedly culminating the fast for her wellbeing. Like, I said, men do not have to inform or confirm their wives of eating or fasting for their wives to be expected to fast for them nevertheless.

Had Armaan broken his fast without informing Abhira because he was about to crash a car out of exhaustion, would his family have villainised him or questioned his love, or would Abhira have shouted publicly at a crying Armaan because she fasted for him and he did not? Did Abhira really have a choice to not fast if she did not spiritually believe in it without getting her love questioned and her character demonised?

Like, if someone was fasting for me, I'd not hold it against them petulantly if they ate instead of fainting and crashing a car without informing me. I'd not want someone starve themselves for my long-life to prove their love for me in the first place. And, if I wanted to fast for their well-being, that'd be my own personal spiritual choice without making it a proof and test of love or something.

But I guess men get a pass for (not) doing the bare minimum.

What? smiley36

Armaan wasn't even aware of either the fainting incident or the car-crash incident. Had Armaan known, he would have never behaved the way he did.

Neither do I support Vidya's vile behavior

The point is clearly about one spouse lying to another. It's ok not to believe in the ritual. It's ok even if you cannot complete it for whatever reason. But at least INFORM your partner that you were not able to complete it or did not want to

But you are hell-bent on making it about a man Vs woman issue

So yeah.
