I think Katrina was first choice for it? I think Parineeti was also up for the role. Either one would have improved it. Katrina in particular would have made the role more believable as a grown woman emotionally stunted rather than a childish little girl complaining about mommy and daddy.

DZ could have been a classic with a real actress in the role. It's one of the only SRK movies I would never watch again because even for him, I cannot handle the lead. Also he should refrain from doing more supporting roles. For a big star like him, it's unbecoming and I know he only did this as a favor for KJo which is even more disrespectful when you consider how often KJo has publicly trashed him or made fun of him on social media.

I prefer anyone over Alia. Even an unknown actress would have been fine. I realized how bad of an actress Alia was after watching dear zindagi. She was so screechy in that movie. Unbearable. I tried to watch it and left it midway. She even ruined the beautiful songs for me. Never watching it again.

I have no problems with opinions to differ (creative arts like books, movies, music, paintings, sculptures etc are a matter of individual taste )

I meant the member, not me...I've watched all of the mentioned ones, but I just assumed that the post writer hadn't watched them with the biased description of Deepika's acting (which simply is ridiculous and just one of those stupidly repeated bashing here - imo).
