Watched an episode after many days:

-- Why is Megha still wearing her mangalsutra after all the drama that happened? Girl?!

-- The press asking so many questions seemed a bit strange. Is Arjun some sort of hotshot? As a country, we are rather passe. We don't even care if the politicians are having affairs or not. Why would we care about some random govt official's personal life?

Haa sachi. Koi random actress hoti toh zyada tension nahi hota. Lekin Rinku ek established actress hai isiliye usse itni jaldi picha nahi chutega.

The scene I liked the most in yesterday's episode was Arjun getting reprimanded and being suspended. If he loses his job, he absolutely deserves it. šŸ‘šŸ¼

The drama has already stretched into unrealistic nonsense but it is good that there are consequences for irresponsible behaviour.

So this drama can't seem to decide what Arjun's job is. smiley36 Is he IPS? IAS? Apparently, he is also IFS.

By the way, you can't just be a random govt official and claim diplomatic immunity. That is not how it works. You need to be part of IFS cadre/grade in order to get the diplomatic passport. That is a different passport from the regular passport that we get as citizens.

You can work in the embassy as a regular citizen but will not have diplomatic rights. Also you cannot be on holiday, do idiotic things and then claim diplomatic immunity. You have to be in the country working for govt in order to get diplomatic privileges. So what exactly was Arjun doing that he got immunity status for?

Now lets say he does have immunity status, however, there are so many protocols that happen when there are legal issues like this. If you have read stories in the newspaper, you will know that it is highly complex as there are talks between the two govts, back and forth stuff. It isn't jail free card like in monopoly. The govt/embassy has to vouch for you.

Now lets say all that backdoor stuff didn't need to happen... As Arjun's representation of the Indian govt, he puts in danger all Indian citizens living in Georgia as well as other small countries (those that don't have embassies in that place and will tie up to India. e.g Nepal).

Because he broke the rules, the assumption is that the other citizens will also do something stupid and so the native govt can then take a harsh view when an ordinary Indian citizen breaks the laws. It can make diplomatic relationships and furthering of country interests (like economic ties) difficult. So lots of ripple effects.

Playing Hero for some random girl without going through official protocol should be grounds for dismissal and I hope he gets fired.
