I thought in Hanafi school of thought, giving triple talaq at one time still counts as one talaq and the process is to have the three talaqs spaced apart with a period of reconciliation between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd talaks.

Why did they then resort to the Halala option?

I can see Shabbir and his mom thinking saying talak 3 times is triple talak but why did the maulvi not clarify? Instead of the maulvi condoning or putting up with a solution which is a major sin (planned halala), shouldn't he have advised Shabbir & his mom that there is an easier out (reconciliation after 1st talak)? At most, this would have been a matter of difference of opinion between different Islamic scholars rather than an action that is considered illegal by all scholars (planned halala).

You are mixing it up. Hanafi fiqh considers three talaqs in a moment as three talaqs. Arfa told me that in this sub continent it’s the most followed fiqh that’s why they have gone with the majority.

The maulvi should have explained it to them well but he rather told them the translation of an aayah which they interpreted in a way that benefits them.

But why even mention Halal, if it's prohibited. Just avoid the topic, he clearly wanted to gain favours from Shabbir. If he wasn't a maulvi but just someone close to Shabbir, I woundnt have minded, but as a religious scholar you are just promoting an act of disobedience by recommending it

I don’t blame him for talking about what shariah says about reconciliation after talaq but he was as guilty as Shabbir for not letting Ibrahim run.

That face helps. I see a lot of people think that he’s as innocent in his real life smiley37

As per my knowledge, In Hanafi fiqh, triple talaaq at one sitting consider as talaaq. Which can't be revert back and they can't reconcile. This is known as talaaq e bidah, which is most unlikeable way of divorce and is a sin.

They have revealing past story. We are getting to know that how everything happened in past.

Aaliya and ibrahim are majboor and weak souls and shabbir and his mom took advantage of them.

Shabbir is such evil person. He and his mom, just think about themselves. His mom is so manipulative. Moh py meethi aur dil ki kali, apna matlab nikalwaney wali

Just because aaliya refused to get marry with someone else, shabbir's mom threw her out of the house and when ibrahim refused to do planned halala, shabbir slapped him. Such cheap and selfish souls they are

another strong episode as always. strong dialogues by aliya as if woman are vessels or objects to be bartered back and forth. aliya also points out how ibrahim had the option to skedaddle from the situation but he didn't do so.

lol, ibrahim trying to shoo away the mouse for aliya -- aww! smiley36nice to see aliya's hesitation prior to the 2nd marriage at first. her ex-MIL is just echoing what she's been taught in her life over the 2nd marriage + no "space" for her at her brother's place. shabbir just wants aliya back as a traded object just like how she mentioned at the start of the episode. like mother, like son. even maulvi wants to stay out of this mess. even the fake death so seems like she faked her death to get out of shabbir's mess. somewhere i felt she knew she was mistreasted but needed an opportunity to abscond from shabbir's clutches thereby the staged suicide scenario.

mention of discussing how to handlr divorce between aliya & shabbir. interesting! let's see.
