At times I wonder who do the hapless victims of drink and drive hit and run cases look upto ? The state including its legal and judicial framework is obliged to ensure justice ... Is our judiciary and legal system so weak that it cannot give poor families their due ? What great legal technicalities prompt them to give bail ? Why do we not have laws that will prevent any kind of bail ? Is it asking for too much for families of the deceased ? Who will ensure justice? Is it not a big question mark on the efficiency and functioning of the judiciary and police??
Is the citizenry the first to be neglected and denied any right to lawful justice ?
Remember the citizens are resilient by force not by choice ...
Bar and restaurants are open till 1am, why so late ? Because B&R restaurant owners association met govt after lockdown and asked for extension because of losses they suffered in lockdown. But what happens to the guys who leave the bar after heavy drinking is no one's botheration. CCTV footage is used like post-martem. Haftas reach at the levels no one can imagine. The profit in the business is easily more than 100%. Illegal constructions built by these guys are revealed later by the media as in Pune case. Municipal authorities wake up after media reveal as if they didn't know earlier. This will keep happening as population keeps rising, so does number of cars and so is corruption.
