Anupama is the most toxic show currently running for the last 3 years

It was only in 2022 (Thanks to my friend taking me to Rupali ji's visit for her event in my hometown)  I came to know that there was a show by the name "Anupama" was being telecast on Star Plus at 10.00 PM and Rupali ji was playing the titular character in the show. The 1st episode of this show was aired on 13th July 2020. 

The main aim of this show was to narrate the story of how a simple house wife who apart from cooking in kitchen has never stepped out to explore the outside world can become something without the support of any man. In simple terms Women Empowerment. Fans were naturally thrilled at such a concept. But when the episodes started to roll out 1 by 1, even the hard core fans were disappointed with the show. 

This show had become the most toxic show due to the following reasons.

01. The Shah family is a disgustingly filthy family which treats women like slaves, an unpaid maid. TrashRaj is the epitome of this behaviour. He feels that Anupama is not upto his standards, never missed any opportunity to humiliate her. Baa who is TrashRaj's mother fully supports her son in his humiliation of Anupama.

02. Hasmukh who is the head of the family even though he knows whatever happening is not good choses to be like Dritharashtra, neither reprimanding his wife nor his son over his vile behaviour towards Anupama.

03. TrashRaj's elder son Toshu and his daughter Pakhi who idolize their toxic father do not treat their mother Anupama as a simple woman (Forgot about treating her as a woman, they do not treat her as a human being). Toshu and Pakhi also have left no stone unturned in the character assassination of Anupama.

04. This show glorifies EMA and having infidelity as anger issues. Vanraj had cheated Kavya and offered a stupid reason that Anupama was not well educated and he had issues with Anupama's English. If he had wanted a well educated girl as his wife, why did he not invest in Anupama's education? No woman likes to become like Bechari but at the end of day Vanraj has made her 1. If Vanraj had issues over Anupama's English why did he not arrange for online English tuitions for her? Anupama was blindly worshipping her toxic husband for the last 25 years and Vanraj takes advantage of her blind trust and cheats her. Toshu follows the foot steps of his toxic father and cheats Kinjal with his infidelity.

05. Any woman who had divorced her husband will not stay with her ex husband and his current wife under the same roof. Anupama was seen visiting the Shah house regularly even after she had divorced Vanraj. The concept of divorce was the biggest joke in this show thanks to Anupama's stupid dialogue "Kagaz ke tukdo par..........." (Request some 1 to complete this whole dialogue).

06. Women who are career oriented and working like Rakhi ji have been demonized in this show. Rakhi ji was the most sensible, practical, well educated, modern, rich and successful business women are demonized but people who always want to play victim card and become bechari like Anupama are glorified.

07. I should have mentioned this as the 1st point. Anupama's biggest mistake was not to fight with her mother for completing her education and getting a good job in her own chosen field. If the titular character itself has so many flaws, then how can we expect Women Empowerment?

08. Kinjal is the most toxic daughter in this show. She had stood muted to the humiliation of Rakhi ji by the SH members and especially by Anupama during the Loan Tamasha. Kinjal did not stand up for her mother Rakhi ji when Anupama announced that Kinjal will not visit her mother's home any more. If Rakhi ji is a drama queen, then all the members of the Shah family are jokers and Rakhi ji was spot on when she said that Shah family is a Phatichar Bikhari family. I loved the way Rakhi ji has taunted Anupama over her education.

09. The male lead Anuj has as many flaws as the female lead. Anuj had failed to prevent Malvika from walking into Vanraj's trap and his manipulative tactics to snatch the Kapadia Empire from Anuj thanks to his blind love for Anupama. The makers had shown Anuj as a lover boy and as a husband material to Anupama. Anuj should not have married Anupama and the makers could have shown a more mature friendship between Anuj and Anupama with Anuj funding Anupama's education and also funding Anupama's English classes. After Anupama had completed her education, Anuj himself could have offered a job to her in his company.

10. After marrying Anupama, Anuj gives everything to her on a platter makes her the signing authority of Kapadia Empire even handing over his business to her without taking her educational qualification into consideration. Even though Anuj gives every thing to Anupama on a platter, she visits the Shah house almost every day to get insulted and abused. Anupama did not think about her career, her dreams and what she wants to be, she was always more interested in solving the never ending problems of Shah family. 1 fine day Anuj loses all his patience and lashes out at Anupama for "Taking her married life for granted" attitude. Anupama instead of accepting her shortcomings gracefully and promising to work on her negatives, tears her family pic and more shockingly decides to break her wedding with Anuj.

Feel free to add any points that I have missed out.

Women empowerment was a chocolate to entice innocent viewers. This show was never made for working/ educated women or men. It is made only for gullible females who live in a regressive environment. That's why the titular character never achieves anything big and even if she gets some trophy it is snatched away. And modern women are shown as grey, lusty, desparate, or villanous characters.

While the target audience may root for Anupama's success at first, eventually they will stop relating to her. Bcos women who are uneducated, non-working, or are in a non-supportive environment have very low chances of achieving something from a pragmatic perspective. They are likely to remain caught in family issues, do menial jobs, and be financially dependent. That's why Anupama is always made "bechari" as makers don't want to lose money by losing their niche viewers.

Also, beyond a certain age, the chances of getting a partner diminish. So, Anupama getting new men at every age is just a way of not showing any real empowerment. It only reinforces the fact that women will always remain dependent on men. 

Plus, instead of motivating women to study and work, it creates a false hope that every girl is some Cindrella and a prince charming is going to rescue her from her bad circumstances..sorry real life is not a fairy tale and there will be no Anuj or Yashdeep to help you against Vanraj. 

The worst part! The FL keeps serving her ex-husband's family, cannot bring up her kids well, and considers her regressive ex-MIL a mother.  Also, the leads keep spoiling lives, yet their mistakes are white-washed.

The FL keeps serving her ex husband's family : The day Anuj had married Anupama, he had made a mess of his life. Not just Anupama, even Anuj had served the family of his wives ex-husband as if he and the members of Shah family were related for ages. The toxic Shah family has humiliated Anuj so many times. In 1 of the episodes, Vanraj had the audacity to grab Anuj's collar just because he had pointed out the flaws of dysfunctional Shah family. I just doubt whether Anuj is a Kapadia or a Shah, thanks to him being a servant of the Shah family. And Anupama, who should have given a tight slap on Vanraj's cheeks stands muted when Vanraj grabs Anuj's collar. 1 fine day, Anuj loses all his patience decides enough is enough and that he was not going to interfere in the problems of Shah family and he was going to bother only about his family and his business. But that had failed to become a reality, thanks to Anupama's toxic obsession with the family.

Cannot bring up her kids well : The FL keeps giving a 5 page speech on becoming a mother and sacrifices. And just look at the audacity of the FL to lash out at Rakhi ji who was easily the best character and the best mother in this show. Anupama who had failed as a mother tells Rakhi ji that even though she had given birth to a daughter could not become a mother. Anupama, even though she had given birth to 3 children, out of them 2 are spoilt brats (Toshu and Pakhi) and only the 2nd born child (Samar) turned to be the decent child despite all the pathetic upbringing of kids by Vanupama. Samar, even though he loved his mother, was shown blindly worshipping her, ignoring her flaws. They did not show Samar going to college or completing his education, he was always sitting jobless at home. I strongly feel that Samar could have completed his education and should have explored career options other than dance (Thanks to his mother being a good dancer during her college days). Samar could have got a good package had he explored career options other than dance.

Blind fans of Anupama and Anuj ignore their respective flaws and just keep singing their praises. Anupama was never interested in completing her education, improving her English skills and getting a good job in a field other than cooking. Anupama never deserved the Master Chef trophy. And Rakhi ji was always 100% correct about Anupama and her toxic Shah family.

The makers should have shown the struggles of Rakhi ji (Rakhi Dave) right from the betrayal, how she did not depend on her husband for establishing her business, her struggles and how she rose to the position where she was.

Perfectly summed up!! 

Along with that all, this show made mockery of almost every social issue from rape, molestation, infidelity, domestic violence and women empowerment.

Each character is messed up and Kinjal piss me off the most since she never valued her mother and never took stand for her.

The sane characters in the show are no more part of it, be it samar(old) or someone I really liked- Nandini who stood for her masi too unlike Kinjal and she actually parted her ways from this toxic house knowing the fate.

The show is a masterclass on "How Not to be".

Showing  vanraj  as if he is most experience  man in word  he is most khuddhar person   Showing  vanraj  as lion ki sher bhiukha rahega magar ghaas nahi kahega 

In short showing  vanraj   that he is only smart intelligent  male character  in show  make my blood boil( though he is worst  character  in show 

Where  vanraj  how praise himself  that how he is good son brother   during  shivraatri  that whole dialogue  make my blood boil 

Showing  vanraj  as victim  

Vanraj  ne jitna khoya nahi after dholakia fire him use kahi Guna jyaada  to vanraj  ne 5 year mein  wapas paa liya 

Show name is anupama  but it is everything  about  vanraj  and only vanraj  this whst cvs trying  to show 

Another  thing wasting  top much time in function  festival  wedding   So much filler  episode  

What  serial  Try to show if u are money minded then only u will  gain respect and achieve  successful But if u are emotional  then u will  sleep  on road 

Like anupama  gave  water  and food to a thirsty person  after  that  anupama  bag were snatch  and she has no food and water to eat  and sleep on road 

She save Pari  choti  kimjal  life what is the result   u will  be left alone   for 5 years  and nobody  will  search  u whether u are  dead or alive ki anupama  Acha hua gayab  ho gayi nobody  bother to stop her sub ne aaram se anupama  ko jaane diya  .

Kabhi kabhi  log bolte hai  ki main  Ghar chod ke jaa raha hoon  do we let them go? We never let them go 

Galti kisi kithi ya nahi but jub  koi  family extreme  uthata  hai family  do stop them aise  khade nahi rehte 

What  Cvs Try to portray that one should  never do good deed to help others  wise sadak  pur maara maare phiioge aur 5 years tuk  akele rahege  ya phir trophy cheen  li jaayegi 

Anupama needs to become independent and not depend on others for every thing. She could have investigated the Cockroach Biryani Fiasco all by herself without Anuj's support. The cockroach biryani fiasco was dragged unnecessarily IMO. Either Anupama or YD should have got CCTV cameras installed in Spice & Chutney with a loyal guy to monitor the security so that none of CCTV footages get deleted. Had this been done before the CCTV footage could have served as a perfect evidence for Anupama's innocence (In the cockroach biryani fiasco). Anupama cannot be unprofessional at her workplace. We are paid for the work we do in our workplace. Had Anupama focused on the task at hand of impressing the food critic, things would not have turned to be so nasty.

I am proud of Sruthi for doing what she did. Any normal person in Sruthi's place would have done the same thing. A food critic is supposed to give a honest review of the food being served in the restaurant. When any customer finds cockroach in the food he is served, he will do what Sruthi has done.

There is nothing that Anupama has done on her own and that is the harsh reality. Take for example Anupama's business idea of a hotel chain to Anuj. Kinjal had prepared the power point presentation for Anupama. Anupama was struggling with the laptop operation and does not even know how to operate a laptop (Leave aside preparing the power point presentation). Anuj helped her in the laptop operation. But she had abandoned the project, her 2nd wedding with Anuj and CA aka Aadhya. 

Every initiative of her is a result of some 1's generosity. She simply refuses to learn from her mistakes and Anupama cannot be an inspiration to any women. I wonder how she had managed Anuj's business when she did not know the basic operation of a laptop, how to prepare a power point presentation and how to use excel sheets etc.

In 1 of the episodes, Anuj had made Anupama, the project head without looking at her educational qualification. Kavya was an MBA graduate with years of experience and poor Kavya was forced by Anuj to share any business ideas with Anupama. Kavya's experience was not taken into consideration by Anuj. Poor Kavya was fired by Anuj just because she spoke the harsh truth regarding Anupama's experience in business.

Not surprisingly, each of Anupama's udaans have landed in the dustbin.
