ITV also used to consider Rural + Urban TRPs earlier now their standard is Urban ratings only. Zee shows still top in the Rural & total trps but BARC considers Urban TRPs only where Starplus gets more ratings.

PTV channels post authentic data but every channel considers a different yardstick to measure it. I guess ARY & sometimes Geo consider all the sectors & proper age group to calculate TRP. PDPTRP posts those ratings just as they are, it just converts the ratings of other channels to the standard one.

When IM got 22.3 & 22.2 back to back as per Hum, that page converted those ratings into 19 & 18.3. I didn't find an issue there.

Thora Kam ker ke koi bhi kuch bhi bata sakta hai. This conversion you and I can assess in our heads given the data provided by the channel.

Issue hona ya na hona is beside the point. Their page is neither credible nor is the conversion you mentioned transparent. Who even from PTV follows them or quotes them? So why do we?

BARC standard is Urban rating because of advertising money as most of ads money come from urban areas. But that doesn't mean that that TRP is the TRP of entire country.

The industry does take pdptrps's word on TRPs. Abdullah Seja (idreams), Raza Moosave (former VP at ARY and now currently at Green Entertainment), Raheel Boricha (GM at Hum tv), Sana Fahad (Big bang) these are some ph/channel heads who follow the page. So that means it's posting authentic and reliable trps.

When the actual Industy people trust this source then I think it's futile to question it's authenticity.

That's the standard set by BARC so channels have to follow that only. TRP system is anyway faulty as it's calculated from a very small sample. It might not reflect the actual interest of people on a large scale.

For people, TRP means which show is being watched more, but if the TRP system only considers urban areas and excludes rural areas, then it defeats the same purpose. Samples can be small or large, but they should be taken from both urban and rural areas; then only TRP can serve its purpose for people. This urban TRP is helpful for ARY, GEO, Hum, and other studios, but not for common people.
