They earn a lot of money from YT views, you get paid per Ad that shows up during the video. You can check estimated revenue on social blade. Amout per Ad view is much higher for USA, EU etc as compared to south Asian countries. Therefore it's difficult to come up with an exact value

It is working in India for last 4 years and youtube views depend on Indian audience, 1-2 million must be a lot for PTV but even small clips of Indian dramas get those numbers everyday and youtube isn't primary source of income for them but it is for PTV

A fourty minute video getting 1-2 million views on yt is going to generate significantly more revenue than a short clip of a drama. You get paid per Ad view on YT.

Short clips getting views is not a big deal. Almost all Pakistani shows short clips have 10-20 million views on sm platforms like IG, TikTok etc

IG and Tiktok don't generate revenue (Per drama)

They choose not to upload their episodes on YouTube because they have their OTT platforms. Most industries use YouTube for marketing, generating revenue from YouTube is unique to PTV

If wrong you can correct me

They do earn from YouTube that's why they use it, I am not putting it down, we are discussing different business models

PTV is still far behind in terms of revenue collection from their products, maybe the Netflix gig can change things considerably.

Instead of relying solely on YouTube, Pakistani channels should consider launching their own streaming platforms similar to StarPlus with Hotstar, Zee with Zee5, and Sony with Sony Liv. This strategic move could significantly boost revenue through subscriptions. It would enable them to showcase telefilms and create original web content, mirroring the successful approach of ITV channels. In comparison to YouTube, streaming platforms generally offer superior user interfaces and viewing experiences, potentially enhancing engagement and satisfaction among audiences.

this whole showing off the no. of views is a bit meh as Youtube is literally free, it's not like you are paying for subscription like you do for platforms like netflix or amazon. To generate greater revenue one should work on expanding the audience but ptv is busy catering to desi audience who loves regressive dramas and there is almost little to no effort on improving the content or storytelling . There should be a balance.

Lets see what JBHSSL would do for PTV industry
