My FIL is an auditor and my DH has keen interest in the alternative energy and IOT space, he's an AI post grad. But my FIL advised him not to start anything in India because it's incredibly difficult to keep up with the paperwork unlike UK(where we live it's quite easy)

Haan. Currently easier in western world for sure. It’s still decent amount of work but easier. India mein one needs an excellent CA tbh. Then it can be relatively smoother. I feel India hasn’t done enough on this stuff despite stated intentions. They have to make the process better.

Heck opening NRI accounts takes 65 pages and 60-100 signatures. KYC is good but itnaaa overkill hain.
