A sad farewell – and a moment..

Farewell message from Armaan's heart to our old Ridhima, or maybe welcome message to our new Ridhima..

"Do not ask me for the same intensity with which I loved you once

I turn; I turn again and again to the pain

You are beautiful, still beautiful, but – the pain"

-Faiz Ahmed faiz

Do not get me wrong, I have already accepted Sukriti as the new Ridhima and welcome her with an open heart and mind..Sukriti is a sweetheart but a strange sense of loss is all around me, and it has been troubling me from the time yesterday episode got aired..

It's just that I found the way Shilpa's exit was treated entirely heart-wrenching. I can understand DMG producers' plight, they have to make the new Ridhima acceptable to viewers and therefore couldn't show the pinnacle of Armann-Ridhima bonding and all but would a hug between the old Ridhima and Armaan have hurt? Just a hug? Didn't the couple who once set the screen on fire with their chemistry and made us fall in love with love all over again deserve one at least or a proper good-bye? As a memento to what Armaan-Ridhima or rather Karan-Shilpa has shared as Armaan-Ridhima, as a memento to their unbelievable chemistry, as a good-bye to an actress who many hold dear...

And Shilpa's farewell appearance in pink made me realize that it doesn't take more than a moment to forgive everything. A moment is to be blamed when not until the departure of a person we realize they have always been important to us in their own strange ways, and despite all their below average acting skills, their annoying shrieks in the avatar of the said character, and blaming them for the mistakes their character made we love them. This very moment tells us that inside, in our hearts of hearts, we have always loved that person..

I bid you farewell, Shilpa..I may not have been your fan but I wish you all the luck and yes, I say this with a tear in my eye..

Excuse me for my ramblings, friends. I know I hardly made sense here but I had to vent it all out..

Yaar I've already moved on in the sense that I was among the very first ones to accept Sukriti as Ridhima, am looking forward to her portrayal, and wish DMG and its cast all the best. Here I just wanted to share how I felt about Shilpa's exit despite being a non-fan..(is that even a word?)

Sarah...agree with you, despite of her shortcomings, Shilpa did manage to find a place in our hearts. So i too wish her all the best for her future. About an AR scene, instead of this stupid PS gang and kidnapping, they could have shown some meaningful scenes between AR, not romantic, but something emotional too would have been fine. That way, the fans would have been happy too. Anyways, I am surprised that fans are threatening to stop watching teh show, and not accept Sukirti as riddhima, conveniently forgetting the contributions the rest of the cast members made to make this show what it is.

Sarah...hey nice little post.

Till yesterday, till that farewell moment when Shilpa appeared in her favourite pink..i thought its was Rdiz whom I liked...but at that moment I realised it was Shilpa I adored..it was not Ridz..Shilpa is imperfect totally when it came to acting..but she is beautiful.
She gave a life to a silly character like Ridz.I loved her in all her imperfections.

Believe me I so wanted a closure..for the original AR..as you said just a hug and a bye wouldnt have hurt the new Ridhima campaign of DMG,I will never stop watching the old DMG,the old AR at their best..this end will rankle some where.

I am looking forward to a new dawn in my favourite show..there is a new Rdiz..with a priceless smile,I know I will like her as well.

Thanks for this post.

Exactly Hema. We didn't want the dreaded C word or the likes of it but something emotional and touching would have been sufficient.

I find all that ill-wishing business sickening. Nobody deserves that and to wish bad for the show and those actors who have been entertaining us for such a long time is kind of revolting.
