Netflix is transparent in sharing this kind of data, but there is an element of doubt in it. I think the films or series that Netflix acquires at a high cost are the ones they push in these tables to get more viewership for those listings.
They push their own created series and movies the most. Their all time top 10 movies are all Netflix originals.

Not sure if that's really all time or all time since studios stopped leasing them their biggest films and instead sent them to their own services.

Yes, unlike YouTube where views are open for all. You can't be certain if data is authentic or not.
I mean, most big creators pay for the YT algorithm to push them up front in the auto-play/recommended sections. YT doesn't have in-house creators, but otherwise it's the same principle.Originally posted by: Guddu.Pandit

I meant by data visibility of views. Yes, initially by paid promotion you get push in views but later on its popularity factor. Even on OTT, you see every new release is pushed in banners, top 10 tables.

With new contacts for writers and actors - not being paid pennies on streaming - it would behoove Netflix not to inflate views.
