The thing that would have made sense is him slowly falling in love with her and then the revelation happens and she leaves. Yaha toh sabkuch opposite ho raha Hai Hai, he is already thinking about his life with Ruhi after 3 months. It means he will be the most disappointed when Rohit comes back.

Karan kuch na kuch kaand zarur karega, either kidnap armaan or dadisa. Koi bhi kidnap ho rescue mission pe abhira hi jayegi apne jaan pe khelke(shayad hospital bhi chali jaaye).
