Are we getting shorter Monday episodes? Aaj ka episode was back to 17 minutes long. TRP aane se rahi with such length. The team is getting packup early toh why cant we get a decently long episode?

Ok... so a very interesting episode today. A lot of things are getting clear and they are following the track the way I wanted it/ was expecting it to take.

Surya stopped Imlie from responding to some regressive thoughts of Tayi amma. She is thinking girls should study only as a hobby and so that they uphold their husband's name and image in society. In the room, she confronted Surya on why he lied to Tayi amma on her behalf as for her, education is her zarurat and not a hobby.

Surya rightly pointed out that it always seems Imlie is walking on fire and wants to fight it out. This could be due to how one perceives conflict/ confrontation. Imlie likes to clarify things with truth while Surya does not like to confront till it actually becomes an issue. I am like Surya and so can relate to his outburst today. Imlie will be able to study in their room and there was no need to clarify anything to Tayi amma at that point (not that it would make her understand and change her regressive thoughts anyway so why fight and waste energy).

Surya also had a massive outburst and asked Imlie what has she sacrificed in this marriage. I saw this coming. I kept saying Surya in love with Anjali makes this marriage a big sacrifice from his side. You can see his frustration today at being stuck in this marriage too. He pointed out that Imlie is safe in the house and no longer a maid, she is able to study as he filled her exam form in time, living in her room etc. The issue is his sacrifice seems bigger to him at this stage. And Imlie thinks she is the one at the losing end in this marriage. This was the angst I was waiting for.

He even made a mention that sab phasi chada do usko. The amount of pressure he has from all sides (Tayi Amma, Imlie, Malti, Anjali). He is definitely getting pulled in all directions and is not able to handle it. Yeh toh hona hi tha.

Anjali and he remembered all sweet moments they had (he did really love her - used to go see her chup chupke even if it was for 2 minutes and had plans of a happy life with Anjali). He said they were perfect for each other. His outburst is a clear indication of lost hopes and dreams. I am glad he questioned Malti on her involvement in bringing Anjali and putting him in more trouble. He broke it off with Anjali on the phone without telling her the whole truth. Maafi maangi and told he made a mistake and has taken a new path so she should return back. Is this KKK mad? Who breaks off such a serious relationship over the phone and that too without telling the whole reason?

They need to bring better songs, this rajdhani gham whatever isn't cutting it from a feels perspective. There is a lot left to be desired.

Can the makers also cut down the romance between Anjali and Surya. Even if it was a flashback scene, it was so pukeeeeee. I have seen worse so mereko itna nai issue hua but still, kya zarurat hai.

First of all why is Gul giving only 17 mins ka episode on Mondays ? It was the same thing last week also and now today also the episode was so good but it ended so soon and was 17 mins long only.

I know the writers did a raitha failao by killing Agastya but today for the very first time I felt they are getting a grip on their writing. Today's confrontation between Surya and Imlie was much needed.

- Imlie signs the form and it is submitted. Surya feels happy that he has fulfilled his responsibility towards Imlie but nope our Imlie is ready to lecture him again. She goes on a tangent altogether telling him how she had to stay back and cook and feel disheartened that her 1 year would be waste.

- I strongly feel Imlie is just jumping on Surya for every wrong that happens in her life now. She did not want this marriage. But she had to marry Surya and she blames it on Surya conveniently when she also agreed to the marriage coercion by Dadi. She is a good cook, she could have agreed to doing the rasam and then going to get the form. When she was Agastya's contract wife then she did everything even when she knew that this was contract and not true. In fact she even told Agastya that she is feeling happy fulfilling all these duties as she can at least feel like a bahu by doing so.

- But now when she is really married, she just does not want to even adjust anything and I get her mental state - she was not ready for the marriage, she is too deeply in love with Agastya but she has no right to blame Surya for every single thing that is going wrong in her life.

- Tayiamma tells Imlie that it is good if she completes education as a hobby but not as a career. Surya does not want to extend the kalesh so he agrees to what Tayiamma says. Bas chad gayi Imlie on Surya and went on lecturing him as to how can he give assurance to Tayiamma on her behalf and she even threatened him that if he can not say the truth to Tayiamma, she will go and do it or else everyday it will be a kalesh in the house.

- I am really glad that Surya showed a mirror to Imlie and asked her what did she lose? Sai was so good in the confrontation scene. He might not have loved Anjali deeply but yes he did have some connection with her and did have some dreams of having a life with her which are now gone as he had to marry Imlie. Yes he did sacrifice his happiness - first for malti by trying to get information on Raghu and then for his promise to his grandmother. I am glad Surya is showing the hurt he is feeling. Seeing Anjali in Purwaiya made him emotional and this outburst was so needed.

- Malti comes in with her bakwaas ranting of asking Surya to leave Imlie and tell family about Anjali. Surya takes the phone from Anjali and tells her that he is breaking up with her as he has responsibilities now and his path is different than what they both had envisioned for themselves.

Overall a very good episode except that it was too short at 17 mins and we are in dire need of a good BGM.

You and I said the same things Ren, We definitely need longer episodes on Monday and unless the crew is like doing bare minimum, I don't see why they can not cut a longer episode especially as it is IPL season. And they need to do a new BGM if they want the audience to root for the new jodi and this Aashiqana ka BGM does not cut it. The fact that the team is reusing this Rajadhani bgm tells me that the PH is not interested in doing any karcha to keep the show going. They are just taking it as long as SP allows it be to run.

This is a pity because even when the writers have murdered their beautiful love story, they are now at least trying to give a decent story with Surya and Imlie. If only the PH spends some moolah the show can be decent.

I totally loved the outburst of Surya and he is right in his place. Imlie was working as a maid in the house which refused to even accept her as the house ka bahu. There was no uff or any complaint from Imlie then. But now for every single thing Imlie is ready to fight like a Jhansi ki Rani and this when the Reddys have accepted her as the bahu of the house even if they did it begrudgingly.

It was really unfair that Imlie keeps on using Surya as a punching bag when he was equally forced by Dadi for the marriage. Of course Imlie does not know the guilt part of Surya so she is resenting him because she wanted him to not marry her. Both of them did not want to marry each other but fine it is done deal. Imlie is ready to leave him in 1 year so why exactly is Imlie still fighting with Surya for every single thing.

I honestly felt bad for Surya. He is being pulled in so many different ways, the gratefulness towards Tayiamma for raising an abandoned baby, the guilt that his enemies killed his twin brother who was so madly in love with Imlie, the guilt that his grandmother and his family had to see their young son pass away and the sadness that he is stuck in a compromised shaadi where he is never going to get anything as Imlie is so deeply in love with Agastya. And on top of it, Malti and Nirmala got Anjali to come to Purwaiya to just put this guy in more trouble. I am glad that Surya had this outburst and he took the right decision to break up with Anjali. But this will make Anjali go possessive and will try to separate Surya - Imlie.

Honestly the flashbacks were there only for 5 secs or less. SBS main toh itna lamba tha and I am glad it was Anjali who was thinking of the flashbacks. Overall Surya is now shining and if the team can give decent styling and decent BGM we might have a good story. The fans deserve this much at least.

Surya was bound to blow up like a bomb with everything he took on his plate. I’m not surprised he lost his temper today since he was being hit like a pingpong ball by Imlie and Anjali. I also really felt like the episode ended before it even started, especially when things are just now starting to get really interesting.

Although I’m not pighlao-ing, I liked that cute sa smile Surya gave Imlie when she was eating the halwa until Tayyi ruined it. That could’ve been such a wholesome moment but no Tayyi had to come in with her old timey thoughts about education only being a woman’s hobby and mentioning how it should benefits the husband’s pride. Total eye roll moment for me.

The writing is currently making Imlie look like the typical biwi whose mood swings drive her husband crazy. Surya wasn’t wrong when he said that she wasn’t living a comfortable life with the Chaudhary’s. Imlie was very quick to forgive them but they did keep her as a maid in her own house. She currently has more rights as Surya’s wife, even if it’s something she has no wish to claim.

At the same time, he does have to understand that it’s not easy for her to adjust to his family even if it’s for a year. Imlie knew the Chaudhary’s for a longer period of time and she loved them as her own family so obviously she was more tolerant of their negative behaviour. Surya’s Tayyi isn’t making Imlie day’s peaceful with her saas bahu drama. I’m kind of like Imlie when it comes to confrontation, I tend to want to make things right on the spot so I understand where she comes from. But for once, Imlie was so lost in her own pain that she failed to notice how stressed Surya was when she walked into the room. There’s a time and place for everything, she could’be waited a bit before sunao-ing him. I look forward to her being more observant towards him in the future.

Imlie and Agastya were quick to empathize with eachother but trust was their bigger issue. It’ll be interesting to see how Surya and Imlie come to bond since they’re both so hardheaded. No part of them considers each other’s opinion to be valuable. Surya keeps calling her his responsibility but she feels more like a burden to him at the moment. And Imlie doesn’t see him as anything important in her life yet.

I couldn’t take Anjali’s scenes seriously because she kept calling Surya her Sunny Boy, it reminded of Sugar Lips and Shivaay Baby. Gul really knows how to make us cringe during “emotional” scenes with the third angle. Also I don’t know why it seems like Anjali is holding in a sneeze whenever she tries to cry, she’s just not committing to the tears.

Surya still doesn’t seem emotionally connected to Anjali, ek bhi feels nahi mili. Like they’re giving us these flashbacks and we’re hearing all about his romantic side, but I can’t even imagine him doing all of that. We know Sai can act so it has to be a directorial choice for him to look so unaffected. I really am not liking the song they borrowed from Gul’s web series. When are we getting our original BGM for Surya and Imlie?

I’m glad Surya snapped at Malti as well, she really has been inconsiderate the past few days. Raghu got arrested because of his crimes and she’s unjustly blaming it on Imlie. Even if their Amma called Anjali, it was Malti who even gave her the means to do so by mentioning her and Surya’s relationship.

Hopefully, Holi will bring a positive change in Imlie and Surya’s life. We need more individuals scenes of them, the challenge will be fun to watch as well. I really don’t want them to rush through things, especially since it seems like the shoot spanned over multiple days.

Today in the truest sense Imlie and Surya are equal.

Both were coerced/ manipulated into this marriage. Both of them are still in love with their exes. Both don't want anything to do with their marriage to each other. For both of them, this marriage is not for keeps.

I really hope after Surya ka outburst today and hopefully when Anjali reveals her truth to Imlie, Imlie will realize the sacrifice Surya made too. I want her to know, he is trying his best despite being stuck in a very bad place.

Also, I believe we all think Agastya and Imlie shared a deep love because we witnessed that and we never got to witness Surya Anjali relationship. We see some flashbacks here and there now (but we are heavily biased). Ofc keeping the writing issue aside that Anjali was never mentioned in the past.

Surya Imlie relationship has 3 main stages to cross.

1. Imlie and Surya getting to be understanding, empathetic and cordial to each other in this marriage.

2. Imlie ka love for Agastya and moving on with Surya.

3. Surya moving on from Anjali and falling for Imlie (despite her not being the ideal bahu for the family which Anjali could have been), Anjali scheming to separate the two supported by Nirmala and Malti.

Yeah I loved the episode and Sai was exceptional as always. I wish they give him better styling.. Today Sai posted a boomerang with Addy, same wahiyat clothes. Mere aakhon se khoon aa jayega to see such pathetic styling in the show.

I feel like one of the big con in them exiting the entire Chaudhary family is Imlie’s lack of solace. They could at least show her meet her friends or Bulbul since they’re still in Purvaya.

Despite this being the same house her Babu and his family lived in, this isn’t Imlie’s home anymore. It’s just a place full of memories and it’s occupied by strangers.

She wouldn’t be snapping at Surya so easily if she at least still had Sonali or Jugnu as her confidante. This is why it’s important to give Surya more cousins, whether it’s Arjun or others. At the moment, Surya is the only familiar face in her life, the only person she can show her true self.

Imlie needs people who can empathize with her and who can let her in on Surya’s soft side. Chachi could even be that person if all her moments with Imlie weren’t interrupted by Tayyi and Nirmala.

I loved how Sonali used to be the voice of conscience for her Lalla and his dulhan. She was so observant and always helped them through difficult emotional situations. They could’ve kept her in the show and we could’ve seen her story with Amar-Amrit evolve on the side as she takes care of Chaudhary Sweets.

Tayyi could’ve tried to acquire it to expand her business empire. We would’ve seen Imlie stick by Sonali and there could be a conflict there. Alas, this is all wishful thinking, we’re maybe going to get some rare little phone calls here and there. Who knows if we’ll get a cameo or two in the future if the show manages to sustain itself post IPL.
