Also there is a blindfold in Ani's eyes - Jhanak can see that he is moving towards her, she could have easily stepped to the side.

What are these 2 thinking, really?

I think she was saying something about Appu pushing her to the front in the precap. Not sure we will have to see the scene play out.

It didn't seem that way for me as Arshi was moving to where Jhanak was nearby. If he did this deliberately, then he potentially risks making Jhanak even more enraged... do you think Ani capable of that?

Given that it does work advantageously where he can create a situation to deliberately show his angry to convince his family, I am still doubtful about this...

Yeah, this is quite in line with how his parents enquired about Mimi. Also, from what Rumi was talking to Lal and Bipasha, it seems Shubho's children's affairs are strictly managed according to their standard. Not a surprise given how they let Shristi and Arshi lord over them and insult his own flesh and blood brothers because they earn less. If they open a subplot for Mimi, her SO/bf will be someone below their standards and this will create issues where Jhanak can probably step in and save the day, earning Mimi's trust along the way.

I would assume Aniruddh would have liked her, but more than that his parents would have approved for the relationship to last this long. The Oldies are also quite old school, so casual relationships are probably a no-no. This factor can quite spice up Jhanak and Ani's love story with Angst when it happens. Would give a chance for Ani to repair the damage he is making now by providing unconditional support then.

Yo gys are reading between the lines too much I beleive. The intention of the scene would be to create drama and Janak getting insulted and audience feel empathy for her.Also audience might get a feeling that Janak and Ani are destined to be together and that is why Ani subconsciously has chosen Janak as his partner.

He has a soft corner for her it is only he never questioned himself why he was hurt with a single word hate, why he's helping her I do think he put the garland knowingly because he didn't walk from here to there but he walked directly towards Jhanak.

Let's see how it plays out, I am happy either way as it progresses their LS.
