Yes. What Pak dramas have going for them is that they're compact and concise ( well.. in most cases. ) Which means once they're finished you can easily binge them .
Plus , they don't hoard their dramas. Even the money making blockbuster ones are regularly uploaded in super HD quality legally on an extremely accessible platform like YouTube. Which makes them such a breeze to watch. It gives the feel of watching a web series or web show. I think these are some excellent reasons for their popularity.
But even then out of 10 new Pak dramas I try every month , old or new , I end up dropping 9 out of 10 of them , because of repetitive plotline and just bad story or boredom .
But those that are good have great repeat watch value. I've watched Bin tere so many times I almost know all the dialogs by heart , yet I can rewatch the show.
Indian TV shows start strong but somewhere lose their track along the way because of their greed for ratings and channels pressure ki kuch bhi dikhao bas humein ratings la kar do.. all the internal politics like Jennifer did with Shilpa in DMG, Anita did in Ye hai mohabbatein and Neel and Aish did in Ghum hai kisi ke pyar mein.. and these are just to name a few...
So the original plot and theme lose flavor. Writers are not looking at the entire picture , but writing on day to day basis , sometime on the very day of the shoot 😀. So what quality can be expected ?? Character graph? What is that ??
Gone are shows like Jassi jaisi koi nehi ( I've seen each episode more than 10 times and my favorite ones 100 times or more ). Where in spite of all the chaos and randomness you can still see a clear pattern of progress, both for the story and characters.
