Swades without a doubt

The best part of Swades was showing Mohan did have his GC approved, but he just decided to throw away everything to work on the village belonging to Kaveri Amma. Some of my favorite dialogs -

- Kaveri bohot kismatwali hai, kal bhi uske liye koi aaya tha, aaj bhi aaya hai.

- From the legendary postmaster : Humein bhi angrezi aati hai thoda thoda, What can I do, for you ?

- The discussion on whether India is #1 country of the world or not. That opening sentence from Mohan still makes me emotional like hell ! ‘Nahi, main nahi maanta ke hamara desh duniya ka sabse achha desh hai, par ye zaroor maanta hoon ke hum mein kabiliyat hai, duniya ka sabse achha desh banne ka’.

- Coming from legendary Kaveri Amma : Main jaanti hoon main kya kar rahi hoon, when she sends Mohan to those farmers to collect the money.

- The panchayat introductory scene where someone says the guy next to him does the same job as Mohan’s in NASA. He looks up at the sky and forecasts on the rain.

Man, this movie. I didnt even mention Gita’s scenes or Mohan’s little dance when Gite refuses the wedding proposal. Their dhoti tying up scene. Gita Mohan’s constant bickering on Mohan just criticizing the country without contributing anything to the country for real, or the fact that Gita’s simplicity is what the story is of every Tier-2 or Tier-3 women of this country, or Mohan-Gita’s small eye gestures on hiding the cigerette packs and all.

Gosh, my inner monster is waking up to see anything that’s not DDLJ is winning against Swades. Ab sailaab aayega Madan Chopraaaaaaaa, oops I mean IF BW Members, sailaab aayega.

There is this yearning for doing something in India being with the women he loves and still with a meaningful job. In addition, without Mohan we wouldn't have got the best part of Brahmastra...
