Dude, it's just a game, children play it with made up rules. If he took a leave just for a family vacation, that is perfectly justified. BCCI should stop cramming so much cricket in a year that players feel fatigued. Leaves are important in a job. His very close friend let it slip that his wife was pregnant and then instead of going silent, he retracts the statement and denies it altogether. Clearly Anushka is not well. Family always comes first.

ashwin kumar: do we have a replacement for Ashwin in case of emergency or we just go with 4 bowlers? ---- Afraid that's unlikely. The rules allow player substitutions only the case of concussion and Covid-19. India are going to have to make do with just 10 players for the rest of the game.

Pitch report (Day 3) by Nick Knight and Deep Dasgupta: More of the same here today. Still got a bit of colour, still a green tinge that suggests there's some moisture. The cracks haven't gotten bigger though. Just a little bit of disintegration on the edges of some of the cracks and that's what the spinners will be looking at, still very little for the bowlers though. Reverse swing might be the only thing that encourages the bowlers but that doesn't have much to do with the surface.
