Why? They were giving parallels and contrasts between Ram and Ravan in the initial episodes....this could've been a golden opportunity for them to show Raavan finding VidyutJeeva and killing him ( destroying his sister's marriage for displaying his power ) during Ram and Sita's wedding

Btw did Ravan actually kill Vidyutjeeva? Idk about that

Kaikeyi must have some hidden insecurities. Otherwise one can not become this bitter in just one day even if someone brainwashes. She was the most favored one, so she might have fear of her status once Ramji became king. Probably that's why she gave in to Manthara's brainwashing

Whenever you do some misdeeds knowingly or unknowingly, that's bound to come back to you, maybe not from the same person but you'll definitely get that punishment from another human being. Same happened with Dasarath. Whatever happened with Shravana Kumar by his one action, the punishment for that action must come in some form. And that happened with Rama's vanvas. Similarly the misdeeds Kaikeyi did with Rama by giving him vanvas, she would get that punishment and live with that throughout her whole life from now onwards and that too she got from her own son Bharat.

So sad to think that the feelings of maa Kaushlya, maa Sumitra, bharat shatrughan mandvi Shrutkirti urmila and Ayodhya waasi are collateral damage

Ram Siya Lakshman ji will have the satisfaction at least that they followed their dharma, above mentioned people will feel so much hurt and guilt due to Kaikeyi maa's action

That's the human nature. One who gets everything in silver platter becomes insecure if someone else gets the same treatment from his near ones. Same happened with Kaikeyi. She might be worried about her status being lower than Kaushalya if Ramji became king. That loosing premium status insecurity overpowered her motherly affections sadly.
