Additional point about hair and how it is shown for Brar ladies too

Hair is core part of Sikh identity. For men and women

I watched one episode of the orginal bengali show. Visually, one can look at the ladies and know they epitomize the bengali culture visually. Hair tied in fancy buns, bengali sarees and big red bindis etc

But with TMD, none of the ladies baring bebe visually present sikh culture. With ladies of Manveer's gen, it would have been expected to have hair in fancy buns as their hair would be uncut. Jasleen is expected to be an exception as she is a rebel.

They also dont even give proper punjabi salwar kameez to any of the ladies

The young girls - Seerat, Kiara etc wear wigs and stylize their hair like run-of-the-mill ITV actresses. Only Sahiba's wig is a bit unstylized and does not look as if its ends have been trimmed

Why do hair stylists in itv not show any creativity. Even a loosely tied braid on the young girls can look smashing.

And I dont even want to talk about the gaudy parandas they wore at lohri. There are tons of beautiful silken parandas for non-party wear

We Indians have a beautiful heritage wrt long hair and how we stylize them. ITV does grave injustice to it

What date is the trp from? There was a lot of bashing last week. But people still watched I’m sure because I think a lot of it is online

Very true! The regional shows keep the ethnicity intact. But Hindi shows that want to show a particular background, like this one… never does any justice to the culture. There have been many instances. The Punjabi-ness seems so forced everytime.
