You can easily give birth till 45 and she is super fit. I am sure she has had her eggs frozen and when she gets time they can easily go for IVF..she has good 4-5 years for that..

Some people prefer to use surrogates, regardless of age, because it means you don't have to give up your career for those 9 months.

Well thats very controversial and debatable. I feel there should be genuine and valid reasons for surrogacy and this should not be one of those.

Practising muslims and muslim countries don't go for surrogancy coz they call it haram and it is banned in muslim states..you cannot opt for it openly. So surrogacy remains an option for the super elite and definitely not for practising people of a particular religion

I'm referring to celebs who use surrogates so they don't have to give up work. For an actor and especially an actress, those lost months of carrying a baby can be a career-killer. Also for people who are superstitious or protective of their privacy, it's a way of having a child without having to reveal the baby's existence until the baby's birth. Didn't Preity Zinta use a surrogate? Her announcement of having twins was a shock because no one knew she was expecting beforehand. She's not even a working actress but she felt this suited her private/professional life better to not have it known to the whole world that she was having children. Priyanka used a surrogate as well so she wouldn't have to lose out on her career and maybe for privacy reasons too.

Like you said, the average person will not be able to use a surrogate just because they don't feel like carrying a baby or because it will affect their work. In America, it's far more common especially for families who cannot have their own children for whatever reason, but even then it's mainly for the upper-middle class and maybe some middle class people.

Well yeahh. PZ was like 46/47 so carrying a child was out of Q

PC was 39, her age was not a barrier in her getting pregnant but these are all assumptions on what was the exact reason to opt for surrogacy. They could be having fertility issues so we cannot diss her by assuming she didn't carry a child to not lose those months

Not always. Rachel Weisz had a child at 48. There are women who can still have children up to that age and I've known women who were still menstruating and hadn't hit PMS yet in their early 50s. Female celebs can generally still have children in their late 40s/early 50s because they can afford the care.

And I hope you don't think I'm dissing PC by stating that I think she may have used a surrogate because she didn't want to affect her career. That wasn't meant as an insult but it seems surprising to me that you deem it that way. Why judge someone if that is the reason when it doesn't hurt or affect you? I see nothing wrong in women wanting to use a surrogate for that reason at all. But you are right that I'm making an assumption on PC because obviously I don't know her medical history so maybe the issue was that she or Nick had problems conceiving. I don't know and I don't want to speculate because it's none of my business but I have zero problems with any actress or any non-actress using a surrogate just because.

I don’t think Surrogacy is Haram in Islam. Haram is a strong word. It may be nit encouraged. Or even allowed.

What is prohibited is receiving sperm and birthing a child without a father (anonymous sperm donation) where you can’t get to know the father/siblings etc.

As per Islam;

a) Surrogacy is Haram.

A woman who is not married to the man, cannot carry his sperm in her body (through whatever means)

b) IVF outside marriage is Haram

Only a married couple can get IVF. IVF for a single woman to get pregnant through donar sperm / single man to get a child through donor eggs is Haram
