Birla cousins were a displaced lot with Anisha leading the tribe. Self injurious behaviour does not work, they made Kairav and Akshara fugitives with a sacrifice setup
Ultimately before the white day makers succeeded in proving that Abhira weren't made for each other.
As per the original narrative Neil does not die he is alive till the end rather ABHIMANYU meets with horrible accident and gets a new identity.
icche Nodee tracks would have worked simultaneously with Kasauli track. Makers only had to sideline Aarohi for sometime or create a subplot for Neil and Aarohi.
No they made a perfect haven for the Sharma's in Kasuali, a decent percentage of the audience did not want Abhimanyu Birla in between.

Writers eventually followed rules and granted Abhimanyu Birla since their female character committed a forgery in the eyes of the law. However they cited financial ability as the reason which was once again BS as Akshara is a heiress.
After Abhimanyu handed over the custody, DKP and SP decided to continue the legacy thru Akshara and ABHINAV'S daughter.
Again slaughtered Abhimanyu character by bringing dubious intentions from his side during ABHINAV'S birthday track. Kasuali special, drinking on a hill top, Shefali's 1000x zoom camera, Abhir asking for a family, a wife not grieving for her husband and playing football participating Dahi Handi etc.
Writers and vested interest were testing our patience for two years. Any other team of actors (including supporting actors) would have reacted like Paras from Anupama with the back and forth negativity.
IT'S good that the team behaved maturely and saw the positive aspect including the monteary factor instead of taking the emotional route.
