Pilots of any gender are also human beings who go to the beach, have significant others, and enjoy life just like any other human being. The real people degrading pilots or military are the ones who deny people in the armed forces their humanity in order to promote personal agendas and vendettas.

Yeah why are all these haters not calling out the infamous volleyball scene from Top Gun which was designed for the viewing pleasure of women? It's all right and decent for them to strip but not Deepika. They are still patriotic but she is not?

There's absolutely nothing degrading about pilots being shown wearing bikini, but if Tripti is considered desperate for her Animal stint, Deepika is coming across just as desperate, it's quite obvious what she and the makers are trying to achieve when they using skin show as the selling point in a film which is supposed to be about pulwama attack.

Well, is the beach scene about the Pulwama attack ? I guess, not

Isn't skin-show (also male one) done to attract audience (male and female)? Showing off the beauty of the respective body?

I think, the how and why in the movie's story matters. In Pathaan, it even becomes the motivation for the skin show in the movie-story - honey-trapping the agent

I think that Tripti's scenes in Animal could have been done in a more decent way...only that Animal was about alleged 'alpha'-male behaviour (where decency seems to have no place - relative to the director, at least)

Deepika is a co-lead of her film and although we have not seen the film yet, I imagine her character has agency and proper characterization. Tripti had 15 minutes of screentime in a more than 3 hour film and all that screentime had her do was be humiliated over and over in the name of asserting Ranbir's dominance and masculinity. Completely different narratives and not parallel situations at all. People are judging Deepika based entirely on one song at a beach like other actresses haven't done similar scenes. Should she be dressed in full military gear at the beach and while everyone is singing and dancing, she should be having action scenes to show how efficient a fighter she is?
