Addition:

Something that is an inherent SRK trait also was a trait of Hardy (and in Jawan a trait of Vikram): finding practical solutions for certain problems.

(I always love it when I see distinct SRK-traits in his characters smiley4)

Why couldn’t Vicky’s character just send a ticket to Jassi or go on tourist visa ? smiley39

He just wanted to go there for a day ?

"How much bank balance is required for a UK visa? Ans - You are required to have a minimum bank balance of INR 2,00,000/- or 3,00,000/- per person which will demonstrate that you have sufficient funds for the entire period of your UK visit."

It also takes time, you have to give the address of a hotel...and also would they give a visa for one day??? I doubt that it would have been easier than a fake student visa.

I guess he hadn't enough money and/or got 'poo-hooed' (wasn't that the word for 'betrayed'?). All of them weren't really 'bright' or had knowledge about all the possibilities... they just were following a dream...

Its not that much, he literally waited 3 months and then have IELTS exam. They literally spent more money in English class & all the fake visa processing. I'm guessing its lack of awareness. Recently a Gujrati family sold everything and spent around 50 lakhs for entering US but they froze to death in Canada border.

I don't think you need to show hotel tickets. My roommate a few years back had a friend in the UK and stayed there on tourist visa. The cost if visa .. around 2015 was 8K INR. Here they wanted to travel in 1995 - so requirements must be different then. Also why go to UK via a harder route? He wasn't going there to get work or study.

It certainly would be better to ask Hirani or one of the two other writers smiley2 (I only can assume).

When wanting a tourist visa for UK from India you have to give an address where you would live (and could be controlled), either private or hotel.

I don't know how much Sukhi was informed about different possibilities...he was also highly emotionally disturbed...

His scene reminded me of how much having to cope with the loss of the woman you love can haunt a man which SRK showed in Jab Harry met Sejal. This movie also showcased the yearning that still lives in someone for the homeland...and it only had been a new (and more mature) love that gave him the courage to fly to India and challenge the destiny.

Dunki showed the reverse...he left India because of his love for Manu but challenged the destiny by refusing to stay in the foreign country for a false reason (hoping that Manu would follow him out of love).

Did I already wrote how much I love how movies of him are intertwined/related??? smiley36
