I think where this movie failed is securing an appropriate audience in India. If you make a film about x issue that is relevant to y country then do that. Cater to that. This could have been a joint Hollywood venture. No wonder it is doing well abroad.

If you cannot show why people in abc country want to leave and go somewhere else enough to risk their lives, why would the audience relate?

This is not the first film on the topic and won't be the last.

Going to watch Dunki in a few hours, I’m so impatient to watch SRK again on big screen.

The movie is doing really well here in Australia, better than Salaar. Most of the shows are getting booked out quite quickly.

Interval right now.

Vicky what an actor!!!

Somehow cannot relate to monologue of srk before interval. And am sure what gonna follow won't either.

National anthem was part of the movie. I felt very uncomfortable to sit, so stood up.

Morning show so occupancy is very less.

Assemble cast is good so is Tapasee.

Missed first 10 mins or so. Interval is stretching...

Mummy wearing pant so want to go to London is the most ridiculous reason ever.

@last line, it's about the misogyny in the man ki forgot the character) he wants to be the breadwinner and he also kinda doesn't want his mom to have a job. They are trying to hide it in the laughs.

Honestly, instead of giving that reason, they should have just said he wants to help his mum because if he had directly said I don't want my mum to work, the character can't be rooted for because of his misogyny, so easy still, I want to earn so much that my parents don't have to (kinda like what every middle class person wants to do. Earn so much that their aged parents can rest) that would have made the audience feel more connected to him.

Yes agreed.

Also same character when he returns and sees his mom still wearing pants and his first reaction. Gosh.. mentality is same. Staying in London for so many years and still misogynistic. Later srk even shown teasing about it to him. I mean that character meeting his mom after so many years and instead of getting emotional reacts the way he did left not a good impression.

Balli's reason was also not that strong. (Had to Google for character name) He is real Sunil Grover's brother Anil. Acted so well.

I didn't watch the movie (was planning on watching it for Vicky) saw in the reviews about why Balli wants to go to London.

Movie is one time watch. Actually people who are thinking of going dunki way should really watch it so they understand how risky it is and don't go.

Just wished they had written a better story cos subject matter is good. Hope those not knowing dunki way dont take this discovery to implement. Not worth it.

Asylum point ..how the hell it is applicable to Indians? Very much absurd.

Ghar se and Mahi Mahi songs were good.

My friend liked Dunki more than Jawan which surprised me. Jawan even though dishoom dishoom, had topics which were relevant (last part was stretched with SD).

Want dunki to be a hit so less violence movies are made.

SRK next should be age appropriate romcom.
