Really? Why did Jackie get trolled? I remember watching this movie as a kid and crying continuously - the dog had my heart. They still do. Movies with animals are hard for me to watch.

Jackie Shroff didn't have any hit film after his debut movie Hero. Hero was directed by Subhash Ghai, the blockbuster director with Midas touch. The only other BO success Jackie Shroff had was TM. If I remember reading correct, that dog had as much screen time, if not more than Jackie Shroff.

It was a running joke in the film magazines well into the 90's.
