Anyone who is cast to play her fan would not need to act. Audiences would not need to dispel their disbelief that this icon of cinema is so beloved that someone would loose all their senses out of love/obsession.

The point of fan was that a lookalike gets obsessed and then starts hating an actor after the fan thinks what he did was actually supposed to be appreciated.

So if you cast Aish and Sneha (Sneha hi tha naa whom Salman launched?) then sure.
