This is one of my favorite Sridevi songs and from Laadla, my favorite movie of hers. So ahead of its time. I would have loved to have seen Sridevi do a remake of this had she still been with us today, but with a more modern script that treats her like the protagonist and not the villain who has to be reformed.
It's women like Sridevi's in Laadla that Vanga and his audiences are afraid of. They were vilifying her back in the 90s. Even this song takes place after Sridevi slaps Anil in front of the entire factory. In retaliation, he comes to her office and smacks her FIVE times, claiming he is being generous since he didn't do it in public like she did. Her hate in that moment is what inspires this fantasy song of her crushing him.
She was a boss lady in this film, how they showed the strength of her character and the ability to manage everything as haughty and high - handedness!
It was some lame version of taming the shrew.

I still watch whenever I am in sappy mood
Mood booster for sure
I like the ' tere bacche, mere bacche ' part and how she loses the ball and starts mourning 😆

💯
It's been a while since I saw a bollywood film
That old school charm and family friendliness has just vanished. Though some films come here and ther but they aren't very appealing.

Rekha has her own Dushman song "O Mere Dushman" from Sheshnaag.
Nagina's success inspired similar films so this multistar film had Rekha in the climax scene more or less do her own version of Main Teri Dushman. The song has the same musical beats as nagin Rekha dances to defeat her dushman but it's an even longer performance.
Another Sridevi dushman song. This one is from Karma. Dushman is not in the title, but she sings it as part of the lyrics of the song. Anupham Kher is playing the dushman (again).
Madhuri has her own Dushman song as well.

Not asking about your fav or who was the better actress. Just asking who was more popular, the bigger superstar, and had more cultural impact...
