Instead of Deepika-Alia papa-ki-pari–badboli jibes, I think we should be able to retrospect how women are slùtshamed for saying that they had options at the very beginning of meeting someone they later developed a long-standing relationship.

The number of times Ranveer used to talk of his relationships pre-DP, or how Arjun said he'd choose sex over food because he was overweight for a large part of his life, or how Ranbir has had very many public relationships, or how Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt talked of Madhuri on that very show.

Or, how Dharamendra has been venerated as a man of the soil while humiliating two women and their children for a lifetime so much so that he is an effing MP.

Instead of policing what a woman said (and Deepika would have been jumped on regardless of what she said), people could stand up for with someone when they get slùtshamed.

So people don't change? People don't grow or change their mind about things or any situation? Is whatever once said is set in stone?

People are allowed to change their minds about things / situations / persons.

For that others cannot abuse and say vile things. Somethings written are despicable and unreadable. A university based their annual day theme on her for it. What is the limit?

Who has she harm by changing her stance from no causal dating to causal dating? None of those people who are saying such bad things to DeepVeer.

As long as she being honest about it to Ranveer and he being OK about it, that's all matters. Nobody else life get affected by that so why abuse so much to both.

What backfired royally for DP is that she first preaches about not knowing how to casually date without commitment. Then, years later admits to casually dating without commitment until proposal.

Arrey, stick to 1 story. Coz Eventually, lies will catch up with you but truth always remains the same.

Yes, people can change.

But what is hypocritical is that till 2014 Deepika kept stressing that she doesn’t date casually. Now , she says she was in fact casually dating without commiting during those same years.

It’s not about people changing over time it’s lying. That’s why she is being called out on a large scale.

Isn't it possible that back in 2014, she didn't feel the social climate was one where she could speak up about casual dating and have it be accepted. Especially since that was the start of her rising star and she was probably worried about any controversies killing her momentum and resonance with fans.

I see no reason to shame her now because now she feels secure enough to be able to speak her truth.

If we agree to people change their minds then just for bashing sake, cannot say she is lying. We don't know her thinking process.

Basically people who don't like her will bash her cos of it or men who thinks women doing this is unacceptable which is sad. Whereas Sanjay Dutt was applauded for having so many affairs even before and after marriage. Such a sad mentality world we live in.

Do celebs really think over something as much as people here do?

Like did KJo really plan that let me put RS DP in such n awkward position that they make My RK-Alia seem like couple goals?

Did DP plan to give a controversial answer that would keep her in news for days..afterall ..all publicity is good publicity.

Or did RS plan this to get sympathy and get his wife trolled for seeing other guys?

IMO..none.

KJo didn't ask any controversial question to put them in a spot.

DP didn't say anything she hasn't previously said. They both were seeing others before they got serious about eachother. Ranveer could conceal it in that particular episode..DP couldn't, she isn't very articulate . And he didn't seem shocked by the revelation.

Why r people acting holier than thou as if they never dated and directly married their partner. Or still waiting for their prince or princess? Why would celebs be any different..that too when they have so many admirers..Even if we don't agree to their ways it's for them to deal with.

Having said that..Once u commit..stay commited.

This seems like a sensible reason.

Most people today and before also have had multiple relationships. Unfortunately, for Deepika everything is out there on public on video therefore the backlash. When you are a figure it’s common sense to keep track of what you have said before. In the end Deepika’s contradictions got to her.

There is a saying that “If you can’t stand the heat, don’t be in the kitchen”. This applies to all the public figures they can’t sit and complain when things backfire.
