Also I am pretty sure Vedang is actually 23. Because he has pics up from 2019 and he legit looks like a kid in them. Even in the above videos that are 3 years old, he does not look 24 (since some claimed he was 28)

The Archies is a good one-time watch. Not special but not horrible either

Time pass ke liye ek baar dekh sakte

Everything from performances to direction to music was average.

Vedang Raina is the show-stealer. God, he is so handsome. I wish they had focused more on Reggie's internal conflict between his love for comedy and his passion for journalism

This guy is full-on Hero material - Good looking, good dancer, and a good actor

Can't wait for Jigra

Next comes Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda Aditi Saigal a.k,.a DOT.

I was more invested in these four characters than in the main three

I would have loved more of Ethel's conflict between ambition

and loyalty. Dilly's struggles and Jughead's goofiness

Coming to the main three. If I had to describe their performance in the film or even their overall attitude toward their craft it would be - Lazy and insincere

It's like their whole persona was screaming - "Movie toh mil hi gayi humne ab koi kya hi kar lega"

You can hate on Alia, Ranbir, Varun. But at least they were always sincere toward their craft

I honestly didn't expect Ranbir level performance from any of them.

But even Varun and Alia in SOTY was more sincere than this.

I would say even Arjun in ishqzade was better

Maybe I need to watch Archies, because I just cannot seem to appreciate any of the nepo kids acting be it Alia, Varun or Ranbir.

I think the best way I can explain suhana is this. She isn’t “bad” at acting nor good. She’s passable. The problem is, she had ZERO screen presence. And she’s strictly average looking. And these two factors are enough to take her down. Basically there’s nothing going in her favor. Same with Agastya. He’s another Abhishek. At least Khushi is pleasant looking. Vedant is the best thing in the movie

As the "Archies" (the musicband-gang comics) had been unknown to me (until I read about the movie), I more or less went unbiased into the movie's story/characters.

I think, what I liked the most, had been the Indian-British angle (what Andrew's father mentioned)...with my European/Western background, I'm accustomed to this kind of teenage movies/musicals, so it had been this angle that made the movie special to me.

I was curious about how Zoya would use the ensemble cast (I already had been prepared to all the negativity that would come the star-kids' way) ... the teaser (the only promotional clip I had watched) gave me a fun vibe (a positive impression) and I already saw distinctive character traits.

I've to admit, that the actors' and actresses' looks apart from those linked to the characters, had been of no importance when I watched the movie (I even didn't notice SRK in Suhana...she played a genuine girl - not a boy disguised as a girl)...and my first watch had been for going into the movie and it's story.

My second (stop & go) watch had been to watch details of acting, setting/landscape, talking, interactions etc. about which I already wrote.

I genuinely enjoyed the movie, also the third time when watching it with the kids in my family.

I think, the movie had always been projected for a release on an international platform (which Netflix is)...it undoubtedly has been thought as an Indian-British bridging...with a fresh wind - albeit in form of a fan (sic!) - helping to save a beautiful symbol of a (positive) growing together of East and West.

Vedang has also won several competitions. Then there's Dot who's accomplished way beyond anyone among the 7. So talented. Yuvraj is a legit social media influencer who has amazing style. He does his own content. Mihir is a legit actor, has done so much work like MIH, music videos etc. ...

Happy that this part has been written (I deleted the - to me - unnecessary comparison)... it has been something I learned already after having watched the teaser and looking for the four cast members I hadn't known yet. So, their skills hadn't been new to me when watching the movie.

Future now will tell, in which way the collaboration in The Archies will help their career...

⬇️ are the types of clips I have watched on my insta. How are people sitting through this level of acting? Even if for free? Calling it atrocious would be the least of insults. The bucktooth girl is especially horrendous looking on screen. She should stick to being a model with her mouth closed. Because I ain’t ever paying money to watch that
