Today I was laughing seeing Viaan's reaction. Becharey ko Katha ne kya zor ka jhatka de diyaI was like ....somebody pinch this poor soul to make him believe that whatever he is hearing from Katha is actually not a dream .Becharey ko itna hila ke rakh diya Katha ne ki shayad behosh hi ho jata uski muh se sensible batein sunke Waise writers ne kamaal kar diya...made Katha accept all her mistakes and wrong doings. I always wrote in my comments that Katha didn't give chance to Viaan to heal Aarav...glad that she accepted that.She accepted that she was being a escapist to the problems and that Raghav doesn't deserve her lies.And the most important thing....Katha told that she is going to tell about "Kaali raat" to Aarav ...that's a huge surprise for me to hear from her!! The dream of Kaviaan was so nice....Viaan adjusting her hair and Katha making Viaan wear his coat."Akhir" song really hits hard!! Why the writers had to destroy this lovely pair with such illogical and headache wala tracks??Loved the Viaan-Vanya scene...the Raghuvanshi siblings are LOVE!!

Its my theory but, it matches with the observation.

Look at all the new shows of Sony - Kavya, Barsaatein and Dabangii. All three of them have high voltage and OTT dramas just like every other ITV show. Barsaatein and Kavya has love angle problem. Essentially, sony is following the footsteps of other channels and produce for ITV audience.

And, look at the way sony is advertising. It is reminiscent of zee tv shows where leads of one show advertise other shows and Mahasaptah and stuff. Arya from dabangii advertising for Kavya and Barsaatein. Not only that, sony lured Ekta to write Barsaatein for Sony and brought Sumbul who is from the popular SP show imlie. Completely capitalizing on the popularity of characters only instead of storyline.

Now, they are releasing Ramayana which will yet again attract the religious audience of ITV. A major portion of ITV audience is religious.

Out of all this, Katha is an exception to rest of ITV in every angle possible. Sony is just trying to homogenize and mingle with rest of ITV. They want to remove KA and instead introduce some other show with plot similar to rest of ITV and focus on TRPs. Audience of KA is entirely different from the rest of the shows.

Earlier, I was skeptical of the fact channel ruined this show and thought writers were responsible for the mess not channel but, seeing the latest development and how sony is marketing, I am now sure they forced hands of writers to write a leap and involve a third angle and involve Manish Raisinghania and capitalize on his popularity. This clearly failed and they axed the show.

Yes in the end , it’s all a business . But if channel wants TRP it’s no brainier . But the mindset needs to change , if the TRP can be achieved by being unique in the storyline , they just need to see the difference and then see how it goes . Unless you try it won’t happen . Also the story was going fine till Maya was forced to find out ONS , moment chosen was also right , before the marriage . But what happened after the marriage , the plot was completely out of logic . Memory loss of Viaan was much better and definitely would have been more better received by audience comparatively .

Also in one of the Azinkya byte on IF itself that what to expect in the future , he said that katha Raghav marriage will break and Robin will get back to Viaan and so will Katha .. and today episode was coming irrespective even if it was not going off air . Manish would have left the show by this week and then they would have focused on Robin Batman story or katha Viaan story and their post marriage track , bonding with Vanya and Teji with Katha . All would have been fascinating to watch .

I guess two reasons of going off air -

1- as you said Sony going towrads TRp and for that in all show going 3rd angle . They totally destroyed the story . Some stories are not meant for TV audience or say channel creative head mindset

2- from Business perspective / money making issue . I think post 200 episodes , channel hikes the price for any serial producers to give to the channel , and there issue might have happened , that in order to continue with hike of rent ( you can say ) , they had to tinker with the story and use Sony idea . In the process of cost cutting , they had to let go of Ravi sir , Neerja ji character and henceforth show gets deteriorated . From there it got worst , after Manish enters the show and the leap . It could not survive and then change of time slot further destroyed money making .

I think time has come for all TV producers to show max 200-300 episode series but I guess in this money making business , no one wants to kill their own child , so as long as money is made , keep stretching. No offence to anyone , but anyone in this situation will do the same . Popularity of the star is what keeps on the serial or the movie in india going even if you don’t have the story . That’s the harsh reality .

Kya why couldn't they show Katha driving panicking reaching Viaans flat? Too much budget problem and looked so fake when Katha entered Viaans flat, no wonder channel decided to shut the door.

The damage they have done was irreparable. But, so was the damage in episode 14. The damage done to Viaan's character in episode 14 and subsequent episodes after that was irreparable but, they repaired it and it took long time. Trust me, it is very easy to change the perspectives and sway opinions and writers of this show have(had) that power. They have convinced some part of audience that it is OK to give ONS offer in name of childhood trauma saw many such on twitter who were pissed by Katha giving weird justifications of how Viaan's ONS offer was valid and fine. They didn't intend it as they never justified Viaan but, audience is audience

Also, their bad decision to not show full length flashbacks and introduce a leap and then keep audience in dark and confusion for 34 episodes with one unexplanably bad dialogues to other. This is something they can fix anytime. Change the past, change the context and boom, present makes sense.

@underlined, can you just stop blaming audience if it doesn't suit your opinion? Audience never justified ONS but that doesn't mean audience need to shut their keyboard if Katha keeps doing mistake and we should forgive her because of Viaans one mistake. Stop doing same chanting in every post.

@yellow, My bad. I used the wrong word narrative. It should be perspective. Yes, narrative was always the same it was always about the mistake, repentence and falling in love. Love can bloom even in dark times. By showing the different perspectives they changed the way one will perceive the characters.

Also, why should Katha be forgiven? When did I say that? Writers didn't give anything to make us forgive her. But, if they gave something for her bad behaviour, she will be forgivable. This is what I said for the most of the time. My point was how they repaired an visibly irreparable damage why can't they do it now if they have time. The way story is told can change perception drastically.

Actually its my mistake that I mixed up my word meanings. It completely changes the meaning of what I wanted to convey.
