Swastik has nothing to do with the Nazis. It's a Hindu symbol. Its marks of prosperity and good luck

No shithead dictator can change that.

You really think the placement of Swastika in this mega gory film was in Hindu context rather than Nazi? I doubt it. My joke stands.

Yes, it is. As long as an Indian directory is using it in an Indian film that has nothing to do with Nazis, it is very much in the Hindu context. Unless stated otherwise smiley36

Vanga seems to have deliberately placed it to cause controversy. In Sanskrit swastika means good fortune or well being. Ranbir's character is beating people up and killing people.

the issue seems to be Vanga could be using this so people would have this conversation we’re all having now smiley36 instead of it’s part of the story

I am inclined to disagree given the violent setting of the film.

My best guess regarding the perfect Swastika placement on the wall is that Anil Kapoor’s character is a fan of the Fourth Reich fantasy. So his son goes around mass slaughtering people to bring his “papa’s” fantasy to life. His last ditch effort so to speak because he’s failed at pleasing papa all his life. Now I need to know if there is a pattern in the kind of people he’s slaughtering? 🧐

This is my version and I’m flying with it until someone proves me wrong. I will accept no less than an alternative Father Complex theories to refute my assumption.

Exactly. Which is why we should not be having this conversation at all. It just proves that the symbol has no ulterior meaning to it. It's just there for people to talk about only for it to be nothing more than a common name many in India use for their companies

People should have just ignored it. Instead, they played right into Vanga's hand

He ultimately got what he intended smiley36

Just my genuine opinion, Geetha govindham was quite boring to me, My favourite VD's movie was Taxiwala which I thoroughly enjoyed and did find it intriguing due to paranormal stuff even though climax was bit unexpecting and little bit thanda, but the movie was worth watching as it is one of the very rare interesting comedy horror movie in Telugu.

I have watched only 3 of his movies; AR, Geetha govindham, Taxiwala. Taxiwala was my favourite out of the three.

I heard/red great reviews about his "Dear comrade" movie 3 yrs back eventhough it was not hit at box-office. Dear comrade has been on my watchlist since 3 years, I keep on forgetting watching this movie, hopefully one day I will watch it, it has soothing music too which has been among one of my favourite albums.

I red a comment asking about VD movies, so thought to share it here. I would recommend Taxiwala and Dear comrade first if anyone want to watch VD movies.

Vangas films don’t resonate with people because the majority of people are mysoginists …they resonate because he shows extreme, vulnerable and intense emotions which majority can relate to….a lot of non Indian people also liked kabir Singh so no it’s not just desi bewda aashiqs who liked it …if not ADHM would have become a massive hit aswell which it didn’t ….

Most have been through difficult relationships , anger issues, bitterness after things didn’t go their way in life…his films tend to show all this in their most bare brutal ugly form …yes there is romantic songs but …he also shows relationships and people at its worst and just how excruciating it can get …and he shows them in an engaging way (almost grabs ur attention immediately and dosent let go)

Additionally, they work because as a filmmaker he’s pretty mint (the number of cinephiles commending on how well edited the trailer is, and how good some shots are …how well he uses the music and bgm…and how he made lord bobby look like an amazing actor) - technically he’s really really good

Oh wow, I missed this. Vanga's done two films, technically one, because it's a remake with literally the same story and screenplay. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and declare him the Francis Coppola of Bollywood or whoever is at that stature at present. Let's see first how Animal works out for him.

There is a misconception that directors extract some sort of great work from actors. That's not true. A bad actor would be bad even if a Bhansali directs them or a Sajid Khan. One good thing Vanga does is he chooses good actors for his films who go all out. Be it Vijay, Shahid, or Ranbir.
