They could have done both...releasing Pathaan in January and a fully prepared Tiger 3 on Eid, but they didn't - for whatever reasons... I don't know why they messed up this much, but it is neither Salman's fault nor SRK's...so please, try to keep it fair.

it’s the perception by the salman group be it on twitter or YouTube. They think that yash raj chooses their own whom they like and give them personal preference. I have seen it with ETT when it was only 2 crore to hit the 200 club and it had lower numbers than the trade. How can producers have less. Even article came during that time. During dhoom 3 and jab tak hai jaan the numbers by yash raj were way higher than the trade. We let it slide. Yet it’s been on our minds. I like how yah raj makes the movies and quality. Secondly they gave a director who had a bad reputation this time with this project though I had no issue in his direction but people did on why he chose this script. The reason we think yash raj showed Lowe numbers because they had to share something with salman as he had some profit sharing though not sure. Salman personally don’t care that much on numbers but Amir does and he even openly shared its thoughts on things abs yash raj can’t do what they can with Salman as he’s not business savy. That aside I enjoyed the movie but then screwing up the dates I will never ever as a person 4give them. I know I get nothing out it but it’s personal to me. On the contrary I feel it's a good thing they released the film in this period YRF can atleast use these factors as excuse to save the spy universe, brand Tiger nd Salman coz Tiger 3 regardless underperform hi karti, this Pak peace treaty kinda theme can't work in the current scenario besides TZH ki expectation deke Mission Impossible zone ki movie doge toh yahi hoga. 300-350 is a gr8 number, fans and trade is too into breaking records but the biggest of franchises tend to end character centric trilogies this way only with a personal touch be it in Iron Man 3 or MI3 even NWH where it was more about the character arc than the respective missions.
Baaki bhai bhabhijaan, Race 3, Radhey ki keemat kisi ko toh chukani thi which reminds me and I have to ask what went wrong with Salman and Kabir Khan, Salman and Ali Abbas Zafar those collaborations were absolutely smashing, was it Tubelight failure , Bharat underperformance ?? Or something else? coz they made a formidable team.
I’m hoping his next is not another debacle with people like farhad samji or those Radhe makers. And I agree even Dharma movie isn’t a good idea, lately big stars really didn’t do great with dharma films, this ph is good at making rom coms only.
I think Salman should just take a break, get the body fit and then sign sth big, this Tiger 3 business should be a wake up call for him.
