She makes him promise because he thought the Abhi in the name was Abhimanyu. She was asking him not to repeat the same wrong idea to Abhir.

AbhiRa for 2 years was Abhimanyu and Akshara only. Now makers themselves want to change that. Not the problem of audience if makers themselves want to detach from the negativity of that ship and give it a new spin. And this is just a promo. May be in the episodes they'll clear why she was named so, just like they cleared why Akshara was named so.

She doesn’t deny when he says Abhir is Abhimanyu and Akshara.
She asks Abhinav to be fatherji after Abhir is born.

Negativity of the ship? If they want to detach from the negativity of the ship- don’t include the ship name in gen4. Completely remove everything of Abhimanyu- they already are doing that. It’s obvious the ship name is in gen4 for hype and since tag is very popular.

LOL. She clearly says don't tell Abhir that "Abhi" of Abhir is Abhimanyu. Share a clip where she explicitly mentions "Abhi" of Abhir is An or "Abhi" of Abhir is not Abhimanyu. She said An is Abhir's father now she says Abhi is Abhir's father. We aren't talking about that.
