We're marrying being positive with being smart. Great how it's coming together in the last 12 months. Initially, you want to get a feel for the wicket and find out the options you can take and then back it, regardless of the result, and trying things out that may not be in your repertoire. Wicket played well, ball travelled, was an entertaining game. Nice to be on the right side of the result. Really happy with how it went tonight.

Well, you could argue the game was pretty much done in the first half as South Africa went onto record the highest score ever in the history of World Cup. As many as three batters got hundreds and one of them (Markram) notched up the quickest ODI 100 in World Cup cricket. If anything, Sri Lanka needed at least two batters from the top five to share the burden of compiling a big score and thus, garner hopes of winning. Make no mistake, they did get off to a flier thanks to Kusal Mendis' swashbuckling innings of 42-ball 76 that included 4 fours and 8 sixes. Im fact, at the end of 12 overs, they were 107/2 but 2 quick wickets off successive overs derailed the chase completely and although Asalanka and Shanaka composed fifties, they only helped reduce the defeat margin.
