Yeah it's weird. Cos Fali Mistry won for cinematography in 1965, R.K. Narayan won for best story in 1966. And then it swept all the major awards in 1967 (except for music)

Dev Anand films have easily aged the best because they would always contain something that was a trendsetter or progressive, far ahead of times.

In today's numerous newspaper articles dedicated to Dev Anand, I read Shabana Azmi mentioning Kala Bazar for giving its heroine the freedom to choose between two suitors. It was such a mature take on adult relationships.
