Madhumati is such a good movie. Eminently re-watchable. Great songs and great performances plus intriguing storyline.

M.S looks beautiful. Didn’t realize it’s her birth anniversary too soon- September 16.

I know his centennial is coming soon. Look out for a tribute post! Unless someone else is interested in writing it?

Guide, Jewel Thief & even C.I.D are great choices. But I would have picked 'Hum Dono', 'Kala Pani', 'Kala Bazaar', 'Bambai ka babu', TGKS or 'Jaal' instead of 'Johnny mera naam' - but I do get that this movie along with HRHK enjoys a cult status. Just that the ones I mentioned are far better films (according to me)

Hum Dono to already colorized & re-master karke release ho chuki hai. baki I agree with your choices.

I want all b/w movies to be digitally mastered, that's the real treasure of Indian cinema.

Accha agar restoration ki baat ho rahi hai, toh saare hee hone chahiye. For preserving these classics. Main sirf screening ki baat kar rahi thi. Waise sirf 4 movies kyon? They could have had more. Just saying. smiley9

Guess what.. I went to a “songwriter’s circle” show.. where songwriters perform their own lyrics - a lot of the songs are even Grammy nominees sung by some really big artists..…

https://youtu.be/M2SDMOrTZ8U?si=V2KOaaV_ub4A1dRV

So this one,.. written by James Slater - he was there.. what a beautiful song that takes on meaning even beyond the lyrics as they speak about their meaning. This one wrote for his brother who passed away too soon and he can see his bro in his daughter’s eyes and in the lyrics when he says “he could see himself in the daughters eyes”.. so precious…. Spoke to my heart..

Best part I got to buy handwritten lyrics for my daughter…. From the OG songwriter himself as well :)
