It's a running theme among filmmakers. Extra dark unwatchable movies/shows just to show that it's a dark movie. They be taking it literally when it's meant to be figuratively.

It was always meant to be a netflix movie from the beginning, even when Kareena signed it. It was promoted as her OTT debut.

I love everything about the trailer, but I do wish it was Sunidhi singing instead of Neha. Sunidhi's voice works really well with kareena.
