But MR is a serious issue. It is anyways considered non-existent in Ind & Pak & actual victims suffer silently bcz of fear of getting ridiculed & shamed. Since he is a journo so he has to be extra careful. He can have an opinion(better to share off camera) but in such sensitive cases he should not end up hurting the actual victims. Same goes for Amna too

Exactly!A journalist has much greater responsibility,he is in a position of power,he just cant give out statement such as this,he isnt a lay person,he wanted to be sarcastic,he could have been that while being careful that it doesnt go public,his statement was being recorded on phone,which eventually went to public,thus this is problematic.

MR is a sensitive topic but the way the makers showed it they made a mockery out of it. They were planning on showing MR only to make the leads end up together. That was how ridiculous the show was going to be. They were actually gonna show meerab mising her husband and regretting her decision to run away at the end after he raped her . Then due to the backlash they made it look like angry consensual sex.

Do we even consider Hassan and Amna as journalists? They are entertainment journalists who openly agrees they like masala. I only see them as reviewers and fashion critics and nothing more.

A journalist is a journalist in my pov,no matter what section he or she is covering as a journo.If they say some unverified news,then the person they are talking about has the full right to bring a defamation case on them,they are being watched by thousands of public,their channel is verified,they are certified journo and anything that comes out of their mouth which is in public should be held responsible and his statement came across as if he is defending the culprit.If any of us would have said that it wont have been a problem bcs we are lay person,yes we could have been judged on our morality,nothing more than that but its not the same case when it comes from a journo no matter if he or she is from entertainment section.

Geo or any other channels are money making machines so they will keep on doing such stuff in future too. Also unlike India, in Pak the number of channels aren't in huge no. so the powerplay keeps on happening btw 4-5 channels including Geo. Baki channel ko sharam hai. Geo ko nai hai otherwise Hadsa show wouldn't have happened as well. But Amna & Hassan are independent journalists, they aren't representing any particular channel hence the responsibility of being cautious on such issue lies more on them.
