teji should be happy because it shows how this relationship is not yet mature. this is a conflict where she doesn't have to do much. katha will do it herself!

it is an interesting conflict because the issue is more than just about camp. the question is what is viaan's role as stepfather in this family and what are katha's expectations of him? from this clip, it looks like katha does not see viaan as father but only as a father figure like in uncle or grandfather. so this means she will always be primary parent who makes all the decisions, the discipline and everything.

as a father figure, he is just there to provide some nice time now and then but she will not give him room to be a truly involved parent. while that might work in some marriages such as divorcees, here, viaan sees himself as a father who has the right to make decisions and that includes finances as well as discipline. if she is freaking out about finances, then how will she react when viaan disciplines aarav? already, she is saying that he is not a real parent of aarav because he is not biologically related -- while it is subtle said, her saying that does not bode well for this relationship. she is unwilling to make room for viaan truly.

maybe it will implode before there is a wedding.
