NA received criticism for not giving best actor award to srk not the best film .Also it's inspired from Gowarikar 's old tv show .So is that movie

90s and 2000s era of bollywood was heavily borrowed from hollywood movies... Unofficial ofcourse. Almost every director, writer is guilty of plagiarism.

Misleading title as usual. Swades did receive national awards for its songs and cinematography. SRK was also considered for the best actor award.

There's no plagiarism .Swades team credited the people who deserve the credit. The film was inspired by the 90s serial 'Vapsi'.they even kept the character names intact. And of course, the Kannada movie makers wouldn't sue because they plagiarized from that show😆.

Anyway, 'Swades' is now a cult classic, and SRK's performance will remain iconic.

They awarded movies like Bahubali, Mimi , Pushpa . Plagiarism srk ke time yaad aata hai

His fans complain about Chak De not receiving a national award too without realizing how it was also a plagiarized work. It was a blatant copy of Kurt Russell’s 2004 Hollywood movie Miracle. Like literally scene to scene blatant copy.

2004's Miracle itself was a copy of 1994's Mighty Ducks.

Perhaps the tone of the films were the same as their both about Hockey

But Miracle is true story about 1980 USA hockey team vs USSR . I dont think they copied that from anyone lol

I didn't know about John Tucker, but the swindler plot is from the Archer novel. He actually commented on it. It didn't have the romance angle, and it was 4 men who got swindled. So maybe a mishmash of the 2 plots.

Regardless, YRF didn't actually pay for rights.

ETA. Archer himself plagiarized a newbie author, so it was karma. Unfortunately, YRF also stole from newbies and then threatened to sue her for speaking out.
