Funnily enough, she could have punished him better by filing a DV case since verbal abuse and emotional abuse whether momentarily or periodically falls under the DV Act of 2005. Then Abhimanyu could have hired a lawyer and fought the case to prove his innocence. That'd have been a swifter and more damaging punishment if Akshara were aiming for that. But her marrying someone else after Abhimanyu divorced her doesn't seem to be mediated by thoughts of punishing her ex. Because that's not how a divorce works.

When Abhir's paternity came out, then AK did say that since AB didn't listen to him before she didn't wanna tell him now. And then to Manju that she feared they would've snatched Abhir from her on knowing about his existence (Lol and Manju went ahead & did right that).. So a mix of anger & fear was shown as the reason behind AK hiding Abhir's truth.

But marrying Abhinav, and moving on with him had nothing to do with AB.
