Keeping that aside i don't get some people saying any actor that goes crazy in scenes like this are over acting. Extreme reactions are ott only. When people have no control over their reaction that reaction will always be over the top. How else do people want these actresses to look? All sophisticated and calm and composed when they are having a bipolar anger or a panic attack and keep their voice down and talk softly?

I saw the same kind of mocking for sajal's breakdown scene in orangreza. Her character was on the verge on loosing her mental sanity. Did they want her to sober and only have one drop of tears falling from her eyes?

I remember one Hollywood actress ( I guess Anya Taylor) saying how some directors want the female lead to show her rage by only having a single tears dropping from one eye. She said when women get extremely agree they should be let to shout it out and don't force them to suppress it all in with a single tear.

Agree with you. Don't see that much overacting here. I have seen worse. And I don't like these shows where they show girls as villain. Here the fault is of that guy only. If he know how she was why did he married her in the first place? Cheating cannot be justified even if she is maniac. The only show which handled mental issue very well I think is aakhir kab tak. But she had more of PTSD.

My mom has schizophrenia and I can clearly tell none of the pakistani dramas have done a great job. People just assume people who have mentally ill are maniac by themselves. But its not. My mom is very calm most of the time. Its still different from bipolar though.

Some severe cases where maniac and mental illness combines is more dangerous but it mostly happens due to childhood negligence. Ususally most of the pscopaths have bad childhood where they are abused. But they are not addressed in these dramas. If you can't show what actually happens to mentally ill person, its better not to touch the topic at all.
