Always with Meryl Streep. I dont have any high opinion on her other than 3/4 films I watched long back. So Alia being compared to her and people not liking doesnt mean anything to me. If shes compared to Taraji Henson or something Id take notice. 😆 Same way on critics. Salman has been trying to tell us since 2002 that these critics are all biased and cheaters. If you follow them your creating your own misery.

Gangubai was sold to distributors for 90cr and made 124. Half of that goes to exhibitors. Distributors made around 60 crores from a 90crores investment. Viacom18 is both the producer and distributor of RRKPK. They invested 160 to 200 on the movie. The movie has made 115? so far. Take exhibitors’ shares out and Viacom18 isn’t making a profit. If news/speculation of Dharma bowing out of Brahmstra’s sequel hadn’t been out the “verdict” for that would still have been a hit. This is what I mean by her success being an illusion. Out of her last five theatrical releases four of them weren’t hits. And she was barely in the fifth one.

Everything you just said is out there for everyone to see. An its out there for lots of people. So many films do moderate business and since they turn a decent profit the makers call themselves hits and think they made a hit movie. Do you want me to sign a petition 😆

My point was there’s a difference between what’s really happening and what marketing and PR sells.

Anyway, we are running in circles so

A film never fails, but a budget does ... 😃

That’s a very clever come back actually. Both Brahmstra and RRKPK would have had much favorable outcomes had the budget been under control. Alas …

FACTS. Also if you’re talking about RRR - special appearances don’t count in an actors BO record

I hope she does. Maybe she'll pay attention to the critics and actually put in some work this time. She's really not bad. Just wasn't given a chance to improve because she'd been told all her career she's already the best.

Alia's coterie compared her to Meryl Streep😆. Alia compared herself to Amitabh Bachchan. Clearly, she has a high opinion on both seniors. As does most of movie-watching world who know these 2.

It's not something I'm bringing up to mock her.

So when she gets a majority of bad reviews for her first international outing...

Anyway, you like her. I think she's a B student who thought she wrote the textbook. Actually, she was told that by her mentor and the rest of BW. Maybe she'll actually learn something and put up a good show next time. We'll see.
